FROM 1648 TO 1952 WITH ORIGINS OF THE NAME by Agusta S. Nichols Bates,
1952. Wiscasset, MA. Privately published. NEHGS call number GNIC 532.
He also has an item, RESEARCH: "From George L. Nichols, Aug 1992. / He
received this information from Mrs. Margaret Hahn, 461 W. Yucca Ct.,
#310, Tucson, AZ. It is from a letter to Mrs. Hahn from a Mrs.
Beatrice Hunter, a RI genealogist. / Richard (1) Nichols, bc 1650/5,
d. Warwick before 1721, m. Phebe bc 1660 d. 1729 in E. Greenwich,
where her will was probated. She calls herself formerly of Warwick. He
came from Rehoboth, MA to Warwick by 1692 when he bought land in
Warwick of Wm. Collins. The land was in Western part of Warwick, which
became Coventry in 1741. He sold several pieces of land in Warwickbut
deeded (some) in 1701 to his John." "Death: This w.p. date, Warwick,
RI. Richard Nichols is son of Richard Nichols of East Greenwich, RI.
