What made me think about Islamic calendar?

Famous Muslim Scholars said that

What does the Qur'an say

What was the Prophet's Practice

Hadith of Kuraib

The first Jumu'a on the Earth …?

How can this be fixed according to the Qur'an…?

Unity of Dates is essential in the Islamic Shariah

Unity in Eid and Fasting is Compulsory.

Explanation of Ayah 2:185

Dear Brother

Assalamualaikum wa rahmathullahi  wa brakathuhu

Actually I did not desire to reply to your last mails. Because one of them was already discussed many time in the debate. And the other one was developed from your anger. But now some of our viewers are asking that why I am silent to the Quranic verses which you have quote for moon sighting. Therefore I think to explain the Quranic Verse 2;185 in detail .

The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for mankind, and clear proofs of the guidance, and the Criterion of right and wrong. And whosoever of you is present, let him fast the month, and whosoever of you is sick or on a journey, let him fast the same number of other days. Allah desireth for you ease; He desireth not hardship for you; and He desireth that ye should complete the period, and that ye should magnify Allah for having guided you, and that peradventure ye may be thankful.( 2:185.By Yousuf Ali )

Ramadan is the month in which was sent down the Quran as a guide to mankind, also clear signs for guidance and judgment between right and wrong. so every one of you who is present  during that month should spend it in fasting , but if any is ill , or on a journey , thee prescribed period  should be made up  by days later . God intends every facility for you; he does not want to but you to difficulties.  He wants you to complete the prescribed period, and to glorify him in t hat he has guided you; and perchance ye shall be grateful. (2:185 By Picthal - Al Muallim Quran Software)

What is the important of this Ayah?

a)     Revelation of Qur’an was happened in the Month of Ramadan. So it is the important of the month. It is a specific period that you will have to know. It is not a crescent.

b)     The Qur’an is revealed as the guidance for mankind. It means mankind of whole world, not local wise or country wise. If any body present in the month in the world he should take fasting. Now you know what is happening in the world within seconds. If Saudi Arabia started the month in a weekday the whole world should have compelled to start the month in the same day (3: 96).  So it is utterly contradicting to your local moonlighting and lunar date lines

c)     Allah desires for you ease; He desires not hardship for you: According to the Ayah Allah made his rule for mankind easy to induct and absorb and it is unified. But the moon sighting and Lunar Date line methodology never meets ease. If it so, there may not people think about a better solution in this regard. It means that the method makes too much problems and difficulties among the people.

d)    And we should have to thankful to Him because He has given the clear signs for guidance and judgment between right and wrong through His “Furqan”

Note: If you want to translate the meaning of Shahr as Crescent, do it and let us see what is happening?

185. The crescent of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for mankind, and clear proofs of the guidance, and the Criterion of right and wrong. And whosoever of you sighted the crescent let him fast (It means who did not see the crescent they need not to fast) and whosoever of you is sick or on a journey, let him fast the same number of other days. Allah desireth for you ease; He desireth not hardship for you; and He desireth that ye should complete the period, ( note: it  is a period not a crescent) and that ye should magnify Allah for having guided you, and that peradventure ye may be thankful.

Wassalam
