Kalp

A Kalp consists of 1,000 Chatur-Yug (four Yug) period or 14 Manvantar period and is equal to one day of Brahmaa (his night is also of same period). Brahmaa's age is 100 years of 360 days each. Half of Brahmaa's age is called Paraardh. Till now one Paraardh has passed. This two Paraardh time is Bhagavaan's one Nimesh (1/3rd of a second) time.

There are following Kalp:--

First Paraardh
 1. Braahm Kalp -
The very first day of Brahmaa when he himself was created (by Bhagavaan Vishnu). Pandit call him Shabd Brahm.

 7. Paadm Kalp - 
Last Kalp of the first Paraardh in which lotus flower appeared from Vishnu's navel.

Second Paraardh
 8. Varaah Kalp - First Kalp of the second Paraardh - the present Kalp. 
In this Kalp Bhagavaan incarnated as Varaah Avataar. Read the description of all the four Yug of its Vaivaswat Manvantar in Bhavishya Puraan, 3/Index.

Rathantar Kalp - 
This Kalp was started on Aashaadh Chaturthee (Naarad, p 535)

Brihat Kalp -
(Naarad Puraan, p 508 - This Puraan is based on Brihat Kalp)

Shwet Varaah Kalp (the Present Kalp)

Saaraswat Kalp -
(Dialog of Sanat Kumaar and Naarad in Naarad Puraan, p 481 - they are talking about 25 Kalp before this Kalp)

In Swaayambhuv Manvantar (1st) -
Daksh had 60 daughters. Satee was one of them. She did your physical worship for one year and you gave her Var and she got married to you. Her father Daksh insulted you so she immolated herself in the Yagya.
