TOP STORY: Napoleon Bonaparte Named Consul For Life!
Venice - In a 98-28 vote the Adriatic Parliament named Napoleon Bonaparte
Consul for life today, as they passed P.R. - 5, which allowed Napoleon
Bonaparte a constant seat as representative of Italy as well as constant
control of the Consulship. Soon thereafter Bonaparte annexed the isles of
Medici to China for an undisclosed amount of money and unknown terms. "I am
quite worried about what this means for the nation" said MP Giuseppe Mazzini
(E - IT), "We had just abdicated a despot in exchange for another?" However
the stance of most MPs are not in that same direction; "Bonaparte is the best
choice, he is a strong leader. He has shown that he will not allow
prejudice, or hatred towards specific groups to lead his nation" said Italian
MP Nicolo Machiavelli, a member of Bonaparte's Dove party. "I am not a
Despot" said Consul Bonaparte (D - IT), "I retain the same powers, and the
same obligations, checks and balances that were in effect under the old
Consulship. The Parliament is still firmly in control of this country."

General Molefi Keti Takes Control of Zululand!
Zimbabwe, Zululand - After thousands of years of Monarcharial control under
King Shakeem the Zulu Kingdom attempted to make the change to Democracy. The
first Zulu general election chose King Shakeem as the first President,
however after claims of corruption and cheating spread throughout the Zulu
nation General Molefi Keti marched into Zimbabwe and called for a new
election. "While it may be disturbing that an election was called upon at
the end of a sword" said Adriatic Foreign Minister Antonin Rossi "The manner
that Shakeem and his followers used to usurp control of the people was even
more disturbing, the Adriatic Republic supports General Keti and his new
Democracy."
Tabriz Builds Statue of Liberty.
Tabriz, Mongolia - Standing as a testiment to the long standing freedom
enjoyed in Mongolia, the city of Tabriz has erected a monument representing
the city of Tabriz as a beacon of hope for all immigrants. Tamujin
Khanbalyk, Mongolian Press Secretary to President Easthaven X said; "We are
quite proud of the achievement, we feel that people from miles around will
come to see this great monument." Similar sentiments existed thousands of
years ago when the Great Colossus of Carlo D'Medici, founder of the Adriatic
League, was built in Venice.
Confusion Over Adriatic-Israeli Treaty Ends Without Trouble.
Tel Aviv, Israel - The recently signed border demilitarization treaty between
the Adriatic League and Israel was nearly shot down as tensions mounted in
Turkey. Without resorting to violence, or retaliating by breaking the treaty
themeselves, Adriatic officials promted the Isreali government on three
seperate occasions to remove violating units. After the entire Pacific Pact
was contacted on the matter the Israeli government relented and moved the
troops, claiming that it was a miscommunication.
CARP Agreement Signed in Tiberias.
Tiberias, Australian Territory - Tiberias, the former Israeli city now under
Australian occupation, was the host city of the Central Asian Reconstruction
Project (or CARP) Accords. The agreement, signed between the Adriatic
League, Isreal and Mongolia is a pact who's goal is to establish
infrastructure in central Asia. "The war took a heavy toll and the
inadequate infrastructure that already existed in the area" said Adriatic
Foreign Minister Antonin Rossi, "Various nations have asked for quick routes
in the area, and it is am embarrassment to tell them that there are none,
only sand, therefore we must begin to establish a hospitable and
trade-friendly place for our neighbors." A Mongolian embassy was established
in Orsoni following the meeting.
Kioutalia Summitt Results in Demilitarization in North America.

would be demilitarized. Following the meetings a deal between the Chinese
and Adriatic League was made that ceded the island of Medici to China for an

Riots in Paris Quelled by Adriatic Forces.
Paris - Following the CARP agreement, and the announcement of Napoleon
Bonaparte as Consul for life the city of Paris went into riots and
demonstrations against the government. The province of France is known for
its Europa sentiments, who at this point support less government control of
local matters and a more "Federalized" system of government. The riots were
quickly quelled.
Adriatic League Has Highest Literacy Rate!
Venice - Following an international study into education and literacy by the
newly established University of Venice shows that despite its recent decline
in other factors (mainly due to the war) the Adriatic League has quickly
gained the highest literacy rate in the world. "64% of our citizens are able
to read, double to the literacy rate we had at the inception of the republic"
said Consul Bonaparte, "We will try and raise that number, our goal is to get
80% within the next few years."

Things have gone well for the Adriatic League in recent years, however we
have yet to return to our status as a world power. It will be nearly
impossible under the current system of politics, however we have made
enormous segway in attaining our rightful status among the top nations in the
world. Our military has been sacrificed for heavy public works in America,
Central Asia and Western Europe, which are in dire need of roads, irrigation
and other improvements. The vast resources we have yet to tap in northern
Russia and in Mexico may soon turn up great advantages for future generations
of Adriatics. Over the next few years Parliament and Consul Bonaparte will
try their hardest to see these goals come to fruition. As the world changes,
as the two powerful alliances establish peace and harmony we must change our
ways, our military has been cut nearly 50% to free space for more
improvements and for better allocation of resources, our coffers have risen
at an astronomical rate, our scientific research has achieved better
life-styles for our people. We are hoping to become one of the top nations
once again, but we need your help, the people's help, to do so. Viva la
Europa.
