I
started off at the Clevelander hotel for the Soul
on the Beach BBQ. This is another event I try to hit
up every year, mainly for the live performances by
Kenny & SuSu Bobien and Barbara Tucker. When I
got there Bobby and Steve were on the decks, playing
some sweet, soulful house music. It was definitely
the perfect way to start off the day. I had another
one of those conference momentswhen"Runaway"
by Nuyorican 
Soul
was dropped. I remember dancing, singing along and
looking around at all the other people who were doing
the same thing I was.
The
music Bobby and Steve were playing was off the hook
and vibe was amazing. I love it when like-mindedpeople
come together for the common love of music. When everyone
is dancing together it creates such wonderful energy
and it gives me the best feeling. I was too busy thinking
about this energy while I was dancing to notice when
the saxophonist from Soulfuric started playing over
their music. I remember thinking to myself; "Wow,
the saxophone in that song is hot!" and I looked
up and saw it was live! He complimented the music
beautifully. Unfortunately, the alcohol from the night
before and dancing in the hot sun had taken its toll
on me, so I left the party to rest at my hotel.
That
night I went to the All World Entertainment party
at Bash which was off the hook. As soon as I got there
they were giving
away free hats, courtesy of Ben Sherman.
In the main room Raoul Belmans was funkin it up San
Francisco style. The place was packed and full of
people wearing the free hats they were giving away.
I went to the back patio, which was also crowded,
and saw East Coast Boogiemen for the first time. They
rocked my world and are 
now
my official new favorite DJs. I made it back inside
just in time for Heather and watched her tear the
roofoff the place. Every song she played was bumpin
and the crowd never stopped going off. She was so
good that even Raoul 
Belmans had to dance in the DJ booth
behind her. Sneak came on after Heather but since
I had already seen him, I went back to see the end
of East Coast Boogiemen. The sky over my head once
again, I thanked my lucky stars I was in Miami!
