Special Action Cards::Defensive
Blue Shield
The Blue Shield card defends against Spreaders. A player holding the Blue Shield card is
automatically protected from Spreaders. The player who laid the Spreader draws the two
cards that the holder of the Blue Shield card would have drawn, then play continues with
the holder of the Blue Shield card. At the end of the hand, the Blue Shield card is worth the
same as the card in its owner's hand with the highest point value.
Note. Blue Shield has no effect on Draw 2s, Wilds, or any other offensive card. The Blue
Shield defends its owner only against Spreaders.
Example: Player1 discards a Red Spreader. Player2 draws 2 cards, Player3 draws 2 cards, Player4
displays the Blue Shield, causing Player1 to draw 2 cards, Player5 draws 2 cards. The hand resumes
with Player4, the owner of the Blue Shield.
