Sarah sent in the appropriate complaint form and as of August, 2000,
she has not received a response from the Crime Victim's Board.
As you can see from Sarah's letter, she did not request the Crime Victim's Board
to assist her or her father in custody matters because her father had sole legal
and physical custody of both Sarah and Harriett when they fled, rather Sarah
asked the Crime Victim's Board to help her and Harriett come back to New York
and be safe. Obviously, the Crime Victim's Board did not take the time to read
Sarah's letter very carefully.
Over the past year, I have written to
every organization that has ever stated that they help children, crime victims,
fathers, and/or families. I have sent at least 1500 letters to various
organizations, politicians, law enforcement agencies, courts, and local, state,
and federal agencies. I even wrote twice to Hillary Clinton, who says that she
wants to REPRESENT and help the children and families of New York State. Hillary
didn't even reply. This has been a real eye opener. I have kept every response.
Everyone said in effect, ......I am so sorry.......how horrible......my
heart goes out to you.......child abuse is a terrible thing.....but, I don't
know what I can do...... Who pays these people???? Even Representative Marty
Luster of Tompkins County said that he knows my son, David, and he knows of the horrendous
things that have happened but that there is nothing he can do- and HE represents
the county in which David, Sarah, and Harriett lived. No one has had the guts to
step forward and demand that Tompkins County do their job.
