Getting your goods examined : at a glance

After the payment of the appropriate duty you are required to obtain the services of Concor to shift the containers from their container stacks onto the customs examination area (Concor Tariff may be seen).

The containers should be properly grounded so that the goods can be physically examined by the customs shed. You would be required to register the BE in the import shed before 4:00 p.m. on a working day so that it can be properly monitored for any delays by the supervising staff.

After registration in the shed, you would be required to get the container unsealed and examined in the presence of the customs examination staff. Please ensure that the BE should be presented for examination within an hour of registration at least.

During examination, you would be required to open a certain percentage of the packages by the customs. The percentage of examination would be determined by the risk factors that are evaluated by the department on the basis of risk assessment techniques.

The importer is required to make the necessary arrangements for the speedy de-stuffing of the cargo in conformance with the examination orders given on the printout by the Appraising Groups.
