So
here they are, the old misery guts' themselves. How
could someone so young say words so sad ? Well, to
be honest I never find the Smiths depressing,
anyone who does so, is just missing the whole
point.
|
Now the
Smiths mean a lot to me, more so than any other band on this
planet. These pages are kinda an appreciation of the bands
work. This site is not a reference centre, though I have
included some pics, and magazine reviews, it is more about
mine and your opinion of their work. So if you have anything
interesting to say about their music, send me an e-mail at
IanTurner@btinternet.com,
and I'll get round to putting your views on my pages. By the
way, if the writing looks a little small, put font size on
large.
Oh and
please don't forget to sign
my guestbook,
it makes all the difference to me.
Their standout albums are
"the queen is dead", "meat is murder" and "hatful of
hollow". There are many many brilliant tracks on these
albums, and to say I have a single favourite would be wrong.
Their music spans a vast range of emotions, and is truly
timeless.
So here are some of my
favourite tracks
Charming

-
A classic uplifting song, ""
What
difference does it make
-
and angrier track, with a brilliant intro, I actually had
this song played on Radio 1 after I requested it. ""
I know
it's over
-
the ultimate inconsolable song, should be reserved for those
really down days. Increadible lyrics, incredible sentiment.
""
Cemetry
Gates
-
a upbeat track, wonderful vocal. "there's always someone
somewhere, with a big nose who knows, who trips you up and
laughs when you fall"
William
it was really nothing
-this may seen a strange track at first, but once your
hooked it is mesmerizing. ""
That joke
isn't funny anymore
-
a song for those days when people treat you just a little
bit worse than usual. ""
