DAVID S.C.LIM - ENGINEER SURVEYOR
B Sc (Hons), MRINA, Chartered Engineer (UK)
A respectable and qualified naval architect/surveyor with 23 years in the marine and
offshore industry involving several turnkey projects from design engineering and
construction to installation and commissioning. He also completed 4-year
apprenticeship with Sembawang Shipyard. With his wide experience, he is very
suitable to represent our clients on review and approval of all marine-related projects.
Experience:
- He has worked in the shipbuilding and repair yard as Estimating and Project Engineer
before he went to UK for his degree. During his national service, he was assigned to
Singapore Navy as maintenance and quality controller to upkeep all the naval vessels.
- After 1-year of vessel design and coordination in Kenton Marine, he joined Noble Denton
for 4½ years performing marine and offshore consultancy and warranty survey for vessels,
drilling rig, offshore platforms and various heavy lifts and cargoes. The survey
include condition, suitability, on/off hire, damage and valuation.
- During his 14½ years in McDermott, his involvement include marine, structural and
pipeline analysis for offshore platforms. He has handled various turnkey projects
and carried out technical evaluation, review and approval, project planning and
coordination. He is conversant in engineering design and coordination for loadout, towage
and installation of shallow and deep water offshore structures and modules, including
structural modification and selection of barges and tugs for specific services.
- He has been seconded to overseas offices in USA, UK, Indonesia and Brazil and worked on
many projects including site attendance, both onshore and offshore, for oil companies and
contractors in USA, Europe, Middle East, Far East, South America, India, Asean and
Australia.
