The Q-Society, also known as the Q-Foundation or the Q Brotherhood are responsible for Aztek's training. They are the guardians of an ancient helmet left by the god Quetzalcoatl after the defeat of the dark god Tezcatlipoca. The Q-Society has undertaken the responsibility of training a warrior to wear the helmet and become the vessel for the god Quetzalcoatl at the time of Tezcatlipoca's prophesized return. They have also constructed a world wide conspiracy of business men and influential figures, and one of their principal backers is villain Lex Luthor. The previous Aztek was Curt's father Emilio. He was trained by the Q-Society but went against they wishes by marrying and having a child, Curt. He was killed for this transgression and his son was taken to be trained as a replacement. After his training was complete the Q-Society sent him to live in Vanity City where he witnessed the death of the criminal, Piper, Dr. Curt Falconer in disguise. The Q-Society used their agents to replace Dr. Falconer with the new Aztek. He lived in the city operating as a hero form some time and eventually joined the JLA where he was an excellent member until Lex Luthor constructed the Injustice Gang and Aztek was faced with a conflict of interest. He sided with the JLA during the crisis but resigned shortly after. Aztek worked with the JLA for his last time during the Mageddon war. He realized that Mageddon was the Tezcatlipoca he was supposed to defeat and released the power of the helmet. The energy killed Aztek in the process but his sacrifice made the defeat of Mageddon possible. Bio by RavenChyld
