I'm not going to I-con next year. Other stuff has come up and I won't be able to go. (Good thing I didn't pre-register yet. ^^;) My plans for competing in the Masquerade will have to be postponed (to Anime Next? Maybe....) I'm going to be elsewhere next March.... Asia trip

Some of you know already that my mother's friend is the president of Dorcas University (stationed in Hawaii) as well as a song writer and poet (whose poems I'm currenting translating for her. ^^;) Well, she is also a writer (of course ^.^) and she has several books being published at the end of this year. In March '05, she will be going on a book tour to Taiwan (/w her daughter, Dorcas-remember P-chan? ^.^) and I will be going with her. Sort of like her gofer/assistant. ^-^

I told my mother that I refuse to visit relatives from ANY side of the family and this is purely a business/personal trip. Its scheduled for the last two weeks in March and I'm thinking about spending a few days in Japan for the sakura blossom festival. *dances around the room* Isn't this awesome? (I also have lots of vacation days...over 2 wks worth which I need to take. ^^; Gonna be speaking with my supervisor about this....) Since I'm gofering, I need to be versed in the books...so I have some reading to do. Hee, hee.... ^.^

I've been trying to make a decent jpg for my site. I don't know if this is considered decent, but I like it. ^.^ Yeah, I know, you can hardly see the links on top...I'll try to fix that. ^^; I spent most of last night trying to utilize what little htmling and cssing skills I have to make the iframe transparent and stuff. (Going over my css files...I have some cleaning up to do. ^-^;) Now that this is done...time to get back to work!

B-day updates....

I've decided...to stay in the state for my b-day this year. It seems that the KKK have decided to harrass anyone of Asian descent. This has been happening since what? When pilgrims hit Plymouth Rock? Civil War? I think they need a new hobby. (They should take up archery ^^;) P-chan confirmed this piece of 'news' so I'm going to stay. Don't want to fight a 'band of babbling baboons' (HP inside joke. ^^;)

I suppose I should give some explanation about last year...but I may not have one. If I think too hard, I keep hitting the brick wall in my mind. It's not even a mental block...it's more of a wall that I like to keep up just so I can stay within the realm of 'saneness'. Get it? Oh wellz, just to let you know...I'm not running away this year. I promise. *bows*

Harry Potter: 4th year

I saw HP: Goblet of Fire on Thanksgiving...don't think I wrote about that yet. *checks last posts* Yup, didn't write about that. Alby, you were right, it was a mess of events. Totally condensed, but the effects were still pretty awesome. ^.^ The actors/actresses are growing up quickly...but they only have two more films to go. *cheers them on* My fav. parts include the singing egg, Hermionie as the 'owl,' Cho and other tibits. ^.^ Now, all I have to watch is the 3rd movie.... Time to hit the library. ^-^

I went for archery practice today...with my brand new traditional bow. ^.^ Actually, it really isn't my bow, but someone lent it to me. ^^; It truly is a harder to shoot farther, but it was so much fun. I bruised myself on the arms and fingers...but all for the sake of archery. ^-^ ΆΧ improved some...at least my arrows all land around my target. ^.^ Can't wait to go back to the range....

Turkey greetings!

Happy turkey day, minna-san! A mere contradictory statement, since turkeys could not possibly be happy on a day like today...but nonetheless.... I won't type any sentiments about 'what I'm thankful for' and all that.... Useless stuff, I know.

b-day....

If you're wondering about my 'future' plans (or plans for the coming week and a half... ^^; ...I'm thinking about going to Philadelphia, PA. I'll be hitting D.C. next year during sakura season so I don't want to go there again right now. Philly is cheaper (Chinatown bus-wise) and I already found a nice bed and breakfast there. The only problem is that o-kaa-san mentioned that there is some asian prejudice happening in 'the south.' Something like intimidation and violence towards Asians. Reasons? Well, they think we are starting to take over space-wise or something like that. I'll do more research on the issue and than decide.

If it's a small problem, I don't care and that'll be my choice location. However, if it gets dangerous, I might just have to change places.... Afterall, I don't want to spend my weekend indoors or fight off hostile Philadelphians when I'm out. ^^;

First cosplayer in space!

This is too funny. Japanese internet millionaire, Daisuke Nomoto plans to go into space as a space tourist...and cosplay Char Aznable (Gundam) while he's at it. O.O Article here. He is officially the coolest fan on this planet...who will soon not be on this planet. ^.^

If I go to space, I will definitely cosplay a Gundam character. I don't know which one yet...kinda torn between GWing and GX. ^-^ We'll see....

Drenching

To get to the point, me and the crew got drenched with puddle water on the way to Lincoln Center. >.< Yeah, it was raining and the cars decided to shower us as they went by. It was one of the tallest waves I have ever seen...on the city streets. ^^; I'm alright...just wet.

Evening ending: Penn station and undercover sleep

After we bid farewell to our friends, we headed back to my friend's house (since I'm sleeping over here in the city. ^-^) Her landlord demands ultra silence and we have been sneaking over the apartment like the fat cat lounging on the sofa. ^^; Yeah, I have to be silent for the rest of my stay here. No big, just give me a shower, a short dose of tv and I'm good. ^.^ I'll tell you if I survive the evening tomorrow (or more like in another 8 hous. ^^;)

I have a working bow!!!

My wonderful friend from church (the one who took me to the archery range) bought two bows from eBay and lent one of them to me. Its a 20lb-35lb pull and it's a bow about the size of Legolas's bow. ^^; I'm going to practice drawing it back and forth to work on my muscles for this saturday. If we can, we're going to the range to practice 'shooting by the heart.' ^.^ I can't wait! *jumps with glee*

Yes...I eat alot ^^;

To celebrate the baptisms on sunday, we went to Japanese restaurant. After waiting over an hour for a table (for 20+ ppl,) I decided to have soup and salad: tofu/soba soup and sashimi salad. ^.^ I also had tempura and sushi from other people. After that and green tea fried ice cream (yummy ^.^) I was full. But not until my church friends decided that I have a vaccum for a stomach. (Either that, or my tummy is really a black hole. ^^;) j/k My fellowship was really nice and we had alot of fun. Some highlights from the evening included a certain dude in my church who thought the waitress was a male and everyone speaking Iron Chef-ese over the dinner: *eating sashimi* 'Mmm, it's like the entire ocean is swimming in my mouth.' ^__^

Me...the videogame champ ^.^

After dinner, we all congregated at our usual place (Mr. J's house ^.^) and rounds of Halo, MJ and Mario tennis ensued. I ended up playing some tennis mini games and soon, I unlocked so many levels. (I guess Mr. J didn't play the mini games much. ^.^) My favorite was the artist painting game which required me (Yoshi, my fav character ^.^) to hit paint balls (with my racket) in order to color in various pictures. My aim is horrible (so is my button pressing) but the game was hilarious. My audience thought so too. People keep on pointing out 'the sky is blue' and 'get the eyes'. ^.^ This is officially my fav mini-game of the game.

Tonight....

I'm going to be going to a (classical music) concert with a few church friends. We'll be meeting later so I need to be making my calls... *checks watch* ...now.... ^^; I finally finished my lunch so...back to work! ^-^

*gasp* I actually uploaded two mp3s in a row! *sarcasm* ^.^ Anyway, the link to the holiday meme and ppl's wishlist is here. I'm still sorting things out so not all the lists you sent me is here yet. People have been asking me 'why' have this meme. This is for fun. It makes it more convenient for people like me to have an idea about what someone would want for the holidays. But if you don't want to do the meme, than don't do it. No big. ^-^

It seems that being Asian AND Christian seems to have adverse side effects to this meme. As you will see, the majority of the wishes are abstract and hypothetical. But thats what wishes are for, right? Dreaming and aiming high? ^.^ This was initially for everyone (and still is) to get a feel for what they could get another for Christmas (besides lotion and candles...unless thats what someone wants. ^^;) So...for some people (like me) are going to have to think extra hard since obscure requests are harder to grant. ^-^; (I think that's why this holiday meme started in mid October. ^^;) Enjoy!

Early Thanksgiving dinner, Location: Cheesecake Factory

Last night (thursday night) me and YPF went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner to celebrate Thanksgiving...since next week we're all celebrating in our respective areas. After waiting about 1 hr. and 30 min. for a table (8 ppl >.<) they finally sat us down. First off, I never went to this restaurant before and it's quite nice. The decor certainly makes up for the lousy choice in culinary eateries names. (Not everyone likes the thought of cheesecake for dinner...like me. ^.^;) Either case, when we settled down in the Euro Italian setting, we were giving yummy bread and immediately ordered. (We didn't want our waiter to disappear...also, we knew what we want since we were staring/drooling at the menu during the wait. ^.^) I had a yummy Tex Mex Eggroll...more of a fusion dish than anything. I also had a big tropical smoothie. Definitely, I enjoyed my meal immensely. (Why do I keep going on and on about food. ^^;) Since we all were incredibly full after stuffing ourselves, we shared a slice of tiramisu cheesecake, first time tasting it for me. Although we were sharing the slice, I think I ate most of it. ^.^ It was enjoyable. Good thing I was sleeping over my friend's house-which was close by-since I needed to get to court early this morning. ^.^ *yawn* It was a yummy evening with friends.

Weekend plans....

Sleep. I have been getting next to nothing this past week. I don't know whats wrong with my sleep schedule, but it's totally out of whack. *stares at the clock* I'm going to sleep soon.... I need my energy tomorrow to track all of yous down. *starts making lists* ^.^ Talk to you all tomorrow! *runs off to bed*

Ano...

Hee, hee...don't think too much on my last post about me complaining about my job...I was only venting. I've been super busy lately...and my patience has been lacking.

I see my dresser! O.O

I did some rearranging yesterday and I vaccumed today. *pats self on back* My stuff animals are all on my bed and my manga has moved to the remaining shelf. Which means, my dresser/mirror is more noticable and my area is alot neater. *grins* ^_^ It was getting kinda messy with all my cosplay stuff on the ground and my books inhabiting my dresser space. I'm usually not a messy person so I finally tidied up. Time to celebrate! ^^;

People ask me why I sleep late...well, my answer is that there is always something to clean/read/eat/watch in my house. (I haven't even added the necessities which is to cleanse oneself of bodily wastes and clean the outside so that I don't stink. Okay, no more toilet jokes.... ^^;)

'Ceiling fire'

Since there was a fire in Penn station, I had to take the subway to Jamaica and hop on the next LIRR train home. Good thing that I got to Jamaica in time to hear that my train was just arriving.

My question is...how the heck did the ceiling catch on fire? <.< Venders? Hotdogs? Pizza? Beer? I'm guessing it's the beer. (It's harder to put pizza on fire...even with all the oil. ^.^) Perhaps the mystery will be solved tomorrow (today) morning. ^.^

FMA Movie DVD release...in Japan

They finally made an announcement of the upcoming release dates of the Fullmetal Alchemist Movie DVDs...January 25, 2006. O.O The Limited edition includes 3 discs, artbox and two booklets. I do hope Funimation (NA company for FMA) keeps everything in the U.S. version. ^.^ I'll buy it, even if it cost exactly the same as the Japanese one...8500 yen = $72.77. <_<; Hopefully, it won't come to that.

FMA Movie...camshot fansubs

I only glanced through the fansubs...watching like a minute of the beginning forwarding a bit to check out quality and stuff. Apparently, there is only one version online...which is the one I have. >.< I don't watch alot of camera-in-the-theaters fansubs since the quality isn't that good. Howevewr, I thought this one was not bad (I don't know if there is even worse. ^^;) The only problem is that the first 5 minutes was completely cut off...the camera was tilted somewhere else and we can only hear the voices. Whoever was videotaping it finally moved the camera into viewing position a moment longer...but I decided to wait for the dvd fansubs. (I know the movie anyway...spoilers and all that. ^.^)

RG Veda ending

*sigh* It was an awesome ending. Not like how I imagined it...somewhat close. Practically everyone dies...except a few exceptions. I think killing people off is a specialty in Japanime culture. ^.^ I really like the ending...sad and beautiful just the same. I love the convo between Ashura-ou (Ashura's father) and Yasha-ou (as a boy.)

Ashura-oh: If the person who matters the most to you in this world will bring you misfortune, what would you do
Yama: Protect him! Reach out with both hands and protect him!

Beach Photoshoot

My mother has no sense of art in photography. Sure she likes music and can arrange flowers beautifully, but she can only take wide screen shoots with a camera. -.-; I know, I shouldn't be complaining since o-kaa-san spends countless hours helping me with my hobby and I am certainly grateful. All in all, the pictures that I took today were good-unimaginative-but good nonetheless. Nothing new in the outfits: just took pics of my miko and kimono outfits. There was alot of wind and I nearly froze...but that's okay. ^.^ *extravagent sigh* I suffer for my art. ^^; Hee, hee...anywayz, I'll be posting them up soon...just need to sort them out.

Besides the pics, I didn't do much besides read, watch tv, eat and sleep. I also played piano on their wonderful 'Steinway and Sons' half grand piano.

RG Veda vol 10!!!

I'm in the middle of volumne 10. O.O It's so sad...Ashura is attacking everybody...even Yasha-ou. Its a blood bath...everyone is killing each other...and dying. (And someone in my church actually said that 'RG Veda' was a shoujo manga...can you believe it? ^^; I know, I'm such an elitest sometimes.) I'm looking into references for some help since I can't decipher all the chinese characters. (Grabs my chinese dictionary and the scanlations.) *sigh* This will be my last volumne and than...no more new manga. (Do you think I should ask my father to send me more from Taiwan? Hm...I'm really considering YYH or something....) Oh wellz, I'm going back to the story...and the killing...and the death. (I'm almost sure that Ashura and Yasha-ou will die.... If so...it's sooo in CLAMP style. We'll see soon enough. ^.^)

Beach outing

You, my friends are connected by the hips: you guys know who you are. Oh wellz, I'm not going to do any persuasions since there is no point. Hey, it's a house by the beach in the middle of autumn. You look out you see the ocean. There are no sounds of cars or anything except a horn of a far out boat. At night, you can see the lighthouse from across the waters (island?) blinking. *sigh* I enjoy my moments there...doing nothing. Sitting, reading, watching tv, eating, sleeping. It's like a small getaway. I hope to share this little haven with you. No matter. If it's too much of a hassle, don't even bother. I don't mind.

confession....

I know I had initially planned to hang out with you this friday, but since my mother is going there, I'll be joining her. I think I need this break moreso to recharge a bit. I've been overly stressed lately. I realized that my patience has been very thin...little to no patience at all. My show of anger during the Halloween event has only been a small sign of the deterioration of my senses. My nightmares have returned. I've been getting 'moody.' Don't worry, I doubt it's because of my decreasing meds. From what I can tell, it's more that I can actually think somewhat clearly and objectively about what's been happening to me. I can sort of face the mirror and say, 'Oh, this is me.' I'm not extremely thrill about the person I've become...but I just have to deal with the piece of crap that I am.

I've decided: I'm calling off the trip with you guys. You're not up to it, and now that I think about it, I don't think I'll make a good co-hostess at this point. I need 'lone-time'. Yeah, P-chan, I might just run off again on my b-day. Just a forewarning. I'll let you know when I make any final decisions. Thanks all of you for always putting up with my messes. I don't really appreciate you guys as I should...or be a 'friend' as I say I am.

*small grin* This is about as candid that I've been in a while. I've been candid with you guys before...but only individually. I've found myself hating myself for becoming sentimental...so I doubt this public frankness on my blog will be a common thing. I'll return to my usual blunt, crude rants soon enough.

I was looking for an ultra old crossover between Ranma 1/2 and Mermaid Saga. ^^; I put a post up on an SM fanfic site Sailor Moon Romance, giving a detailed description. And someone responded with the fic. ^.^ *jumps around the room* Now, maybe if I can find the other fics.... ^^;

The Weather Man Review

This is the second movie I've seen in a week. This...is worse than 'Chicken Little.' Technically, it's not worse...but if I had a choice, I would prefer to watch 'Chicken Little.' I rescind my choice of cursing...only when necessary. This guy...the main character has absolutely no idea of 'moderation.' His stupidity affects his life and attitude which truly ruins the world and people around him. He is a sad jerk that everyone would sympathize with a feel sorry for. But...I hate him. He is too much like the men in real life. They speak without thinking...contemplate meaningless thoughts that drag into reality without any regard for others. The only character that I actually like is the son, Michael and my favorite moments is when there was archery. ^.^

(Speaking of which, I'm still planning to buy my bow and arrows so I can practice some more. ^-^) I give this movie 4 out of 5 stars. It's higher than my review on 'Chicken Little,' but it's not my taste of movies. 4 stars means that it has a good plot, good movie to watch (not my preference,) realistic and funny. Kinda psychological and sentimental, but not overbearing, keeping a humorous and upbeat tone. You're taken into a mind and thoughts of a weather man: average, confusing, self absorbed and lacking in confidence. Don't really need to watch on the big screen, but it's something fun to watch with a group at the theaters with a group of people. Be wary of high level of profanity, 10 sec. nudity/sex, sexual innuendos and stupidity. Rated R for ridiculous.

Oh yeah, on an added note, the guy sitting behind us was snoring throughout the movie. I thought it was a joke...but turns out that he was really asleep. He woke up 15 minutes before the movie ended. ^-^

Midnight chess

P-chan contacted me at 12 something at night to ask if Alby lost to chess. My mind was half asleep...but the rest of the evening I dreamt about chess. ^^; Yay, P-chan! You beat Alby at chess! *cheers* We must celebrate. It's okay Alby, you're still a champion...P-chan only has 1 up on you. ^.^;

Hot pot at night

The weather seems to be confused. It's autumn but the weather is as warm as spring. I'm with my CCGC friends now...we're planning to have hot pot tonight. I suggested to have hot pot outside on the porch, but we need a plug for the hot pot pot. ^^; Oh wellz...at this rate, we might need to turn on the AC when we eat tonight. ^-^

Chicken Little Review

I saw the screening of Chicken Little at the IMAX theater. ^.^ Disney was sponsering the screening, but the movie production team was not Pixar. (I knew that Pixar's last movie with Disney was the 'Incredibles.' *pats self on back* ^^;) The movie itself was interesting. Definitely not Pixar material, but it was good nonetheless. Spoilers? Well...I'm not a big fan of spoilers and it's an interesting enough movie to watch in theaters or on tv. (Its not a movie that you must watch in theaters...unless you want to bring a kid along. ^.^) Kinda scary at some parts (literally, with the spinning and the blades and the zzz <.<) which surprised me since it was a Disney movie. ^^; All in all, it was entertaining enough and there are lots of old songs in there...for those that like old songs (*ahem* P-chan. ^.^)

Rating? I give 3.5 out of 5 stars. Not a 'must see' movie, but not boring either.

Screening

My god-sisters invited me to the screening of "Chicken Little." Apparently, it's hosted by Disney...which confused me since I thought Pixar's contract with Disney ended...oh wellz. ^.^ The event is tonight which means I'll be home late again. (I really need to get more sleep. ^^;) My god-sister gets free tickets to all sorts of events since she is a graphics layout artist of the New York Resident. This god-sister is also the one that taught me my first basics in art. *grins* Anyway, I can't wait to see them tonight. I might have to leave work early so I better get back to work! ^.^

I think I'm too tired. When I got off work today, I rushed to the subway as usual. However, when I got down the stairs, I felt dizzy and had to kneel down (or else I'll fall down. >.<;) For a moment, I thought I was literally going to fall off the subway platform. Anyway, after a half minute of feeling unbalanced and extremely out of place, I got back up and continued along the platform.

It was no big deal, just never thought I'll get that dizzy from lack of sleep and malnutrietion. ^^;

Blood Manor updates

My kawaii friends were fashionably late, and looked gorgeous. Plans were to meet at the Halloween parade and than head out for dinner. However, after getting seriously lost at the parade, I decided to leave and catch up with the others at the haunted house. In actuality, I was extremely pissed off at my inability to get through the crowds and find my friends. If I could blow up the streets/people, I would have seriously done it. ^^;

P-chan has been established "The Leader." Her agressiveness and courage allowed us to regain our rightful position in the long (obnoxious) line as well as face the terrifying horrors that inhabited the dwelling we visisted. After the super haunting haunted house, we walked x number of blocks to Penn and ate a super late dinner. (It was a long walk, but we did have pizza...so killing calories. ^^;)

Back at Jen-chan's house, we went started on our own Halloween photoshoot. (Pictures will be posted later. ^.^) Even in our tired states, we posed, grinned and bared fangs at the blinking lights of the cameras. Pooped out by our expos, we changed and headed to bed/sofa. I was the first one down and out.... ^-^

P-chan: I'll buy you ear plugs next time. We haven't hung out in such a long time, I can't wait for our next gettogether. ^.^

Alby-kun: Sorry, I was so pissed when I got to midtown that I didn't think to call you. ^^; It may even be best that you didn't go...you would've have to 'protect' the rest of us...since you would have been the only 'guy.' (Although, I'm suppose to be dressing up as a guy.... ^^;)
