Who snores?

I'm currently in the CCF office. We're going to be leaving at 4 to the campsite. The crew is here now, discussing last minute room changes. (Who will sleep with who and so on. ^.^) It seems they're deciding who snores, so perhaps they'll place them all togeter. ^^; Thats nothing new...usually they don't keep each other awake...we hope. At least, they won't keep the rest of the people awake. ^.^ I'm so nice....

Autobiography is considered GRE vocabulary? 0.0

Since it's been a long time since I brushed up on any SAT words, my articulation and jargon has been falling. (It doesn't help that I speak Chinglish most of the time and Anim-esque the other times. ^^;) I started looking up vocabulary lists that can help me study for my GRE (whether or not I decide to take it. ^.^) I thought it'll be good to learn all the words I used to know.... The first list I found had 5000 words. I thought, 'Awesome! It puts all the hardest words in the world together....' Glancing it over, words like 'autobiography' and 'ambulance' was on it. My co-workers were like, 'So thats why there are 5000 words....' >.< Oh wellz...I was able to find a smaller, but more appropriate list for me to start on. Let the geekiness begin!

Weekend plans...

I'm going on a CCF retreat this weekend...leaving tomorrow at 5pm. I'll be back on monday. I should still be reachable by cell, since we're only going to New Jersey this time...not up in the mountains. ^^; I'll be taking the time relaxing and hopefully not getting nightmares about work and other nightmarish things.

I mentioned this to some of you some time ago (long ago...a few months back. ^^;) There was this crazy SM cosplayer who basically fucked everyone over and her ex-friends ranted about their shit. *head hurting from reading* The past couple of months have been very quiet with only a few splashes, but nothing much to consider...until now. *grabs popcorn* Forgive and forget and lines like "let the dead horse lie" filled the webways. It seems that the friends that ditched her decided to make up and they're BFFs again. All is cool, right? The rest of the fandom don't think so....

While I was busy at work...

...my mother was pretty busy too. ^^; I came home tired from work and was greeted with this. *squeals* Kawaii, ne!!! Starlight (my bear) already wore my baby shoes (the red ones,) and o-kaa-san just bought the eeyore outfit for her. It turns out Starlight is 3 months old. ^.^

Just as an extra, here is a pic of my anime plushes. ^.^ Kawaii! If you remember, Al is the one on the right and Ed is on the left. *happy sigh* Al is too cute. I'm going to get the bag and pocket watch...later, when I have more money. ^^;

LOTR reading list

I finally finished the two LOTR book sets that Pearly and P-chan gave me. Thx, guys! It was so interesting reading about the entire Middle-Earth history...especially learning about the different species of creatures. My fav are the 'Pukel-men'. ^^;

Since the server hosting my site is still kicking my site offline (due to large files, I'm in the process of moving files and changing some parts of the site. The Otakon pics are still up, but I moved the misc section onto a separate page. Just go to hidden link as usual. Once you click it, the cosplay site will open up and the link at the top will lead you to the misc section. That way, if you just want to look at misc pictures, you know where they are.

Edit: I broke down the pics page into smaller pages, so to speed up uploads and hopefully prevent the site from shutting down.... Hopefully.... ^^;

As you can see, there are mp3s so you can listen to what I'm listening to. ^^; Nothing much on this first upload...just a piano piece from Xenosaga that I really like. As before, only 5 mp3s will be up at one time. That is because I still only have a limited amount of room.... With the added space, I can host bigger files. (So I wouldn't have to shrink the quality of the mp3s. ^^;) Enjoy, minna-san!

Drinks, anyone?

After work today, I'm going out drinking with my co-workers. *gasp* ^.^ Drinking as in ingesting liquid substances and in my case, non-alcoholic substances. ^-^ I'm on meds and I don't want to find out how even more kooky I get if I mix meds with alcohol. Also, I probably don't have much of a tolerance. ^.^ Afterwards, we're going out for dinner and I heard there will be cheese. ^^; Now, I just need to squeeze all my work into the last 2 hrs....

I'm in the process of looking for a free webserver to host some of my major files: pics, mp3...etc. Brinkster is not free anymore (I don't think) so thats out. This shouldn't take too long. There are just so many choices and I just want to make sure that I won't choose one that will keep on giving me spam.... ^.^

After a vacation...the work piles up...

I didn't really have a vacation, but I did have a moment's break last week with my Xenosaga-thon. ^.^ But this week has been hectic. I've been working non-stop this past week and my to-do list is still only a quarter done. >.< And tomorrow is friday.... You would think I'm happy that the work week is over, but I really, really, really want to get my stuff done. *straps on the white bandana* Not much updates I know, but until this busy-ness passes, it'll be kinda quiet from this otaku. ^.^

Times' article about 'manga for girls' >.<

Censorship in the U.S. is so bias. With teens watching Simpsons and MTV (not even mentioning movies,) the public eye should already be aware of the crude content filling the screens. But no, they look to manga that fills the bookstores and libraries. You would think that an article from the New York Times would be more inquisitive and knowledgable...but of course not. According to this article, the manga genres are mainly comprised of violence and sexual content with gender-bending, incest and shota. Whose making those comments? Librarians and parents. Researchers have the audicity to conclude that the market for shoujo manga are directed for females ages 14 to 17. Which is not wholely untrue...but with that conclusion, they say that they are only now standarizing manga for females in their 20s. (What was I reading than?) What kind of crap is that? Have they seen the age of con goers around the world? Unfortunately, that isn't the worse of the statements....

"Some manga experts have tried to explain the huge popularity in Japan of shonen ai and "yaoi"...by pointing to the lack of romance in traditional Japanese marriages and the more restrictive dating codes...." O.O 'Lack of romance?' I won't even comment on the 'traditional' and 'restrictive' notions because that statement in itself is pretty 'restrictive.' <.< Oh hell with it, why doesn't it state that Asian marriages suck and be done with it? They're all 'traditional' and 'lacking in romance.' *pissed off*

Alexander's life...is all about his mom

The Oedipus complex surrounds the life of Alexander the Great...the movie. I don't think I should have spent time watching it and groaning over the fact that Alex didn't give his male lover the time of day. <.< Men are such pigs. (And he had the audicity to have a cute hottie that looks somewhat like his lover wait on him.) Also, he sees his mother in his wife and projects his trouble onto her.... Now I see why Freud thinks the Greeks are so wonderful to study: Alexander truly is a case subject in himself. ^^; Oh wellz, I suggested the movie out of Phantom and Finding Neverland. (My head is truly paying for it now. *headdesk*) ^.^ G'night ppl! I hope to not have nightmares about the insanity of sissy men. ^.^

Wheres the beach?

I was planning to go to Fire Island today, but those plans got cancelled. I didn't say much about it to people since mid-details, the trip got canned. ^^; Instead, me and my ccgc friend are going to hit the beach that's closer to home instead of spending hours and $$$ on the train and ferry for just a dinner. When I find out more about the info on the 'Fire Island' mini-trip, I'll let you guys know....

What's new?

Nothing really. If you heard from me (which is next to nobody ^^;) you'll learn that I've finished one of my LOTR book sets (thanks to P.and P. ^.^) finished 'The Silmaril.' (title shortened for laziness) and starting in on 'Unfinished Tales' which basically ties alot of stuff together. Than, I think I've reach my Tolkien limit for the time being. ^.^

On other points, I'm at the first disc of Xenosaga Episode II and it's as good as the first one...except agreeing with my godsis on this point that I truly prefer the initial female voice actors over those that were cast in the second episode. Maybe I'm just bias since I heard the first ones first. In which case, both VAs are good, except I like the first set better. ^.^ Although I'm happy since Rubedo sounds the same...and I wouldn't want him to sound any other way. ^.^

There was one part that was just wtf...and I won't say much about it until I'm sure of what I saw...and than again, I might not say anything about it at all. ^^; We'll see...now where is my o-nee-chan? *dials cell*

Xenosaga: the Movie Episode I

I watched episode 1 of Xenosaga...all 7 something hrs. ^.^ It was totally awesome. I can't believe its an actual RPG game. I mean, I believe it and all, but heck with it, it's an awesome story. I guess I've been playing Kingdom Hearts for so long (and it's an awesome game too) that I kinda forgot that there are other parts of RPGs than just leveling up. ^^; I'm going to take a break for now and save the rest of episode 2 for later. Just so I can give my brain a break. ^.^ Just so you know, my ultimate fav. character is Rubedo. And of course, the absolutely most kawaii couple in the story is Momo and Rubedo. I wonder how many episodes are there to this game.... @.@ *starts searching*

Hee, hee...my godsis brned all the movie sequences from Xenosaga 1 and 2 onto DVDs for me. The movie sequences actually present a continuous story when tied together. Isn't that so cool? Over 14 hrs. of CG storytime.... Wow, I wonder how long it takes to play the complete game since it includes battles.... ^-^ It took me awhile since I didn't have time but I finally watched about 2 hrs. today, and it's totally awesome. I can't wait to finish the rest. (I guess there goes my 'do nothing' type weekend. ^^;) Arigato, o-nee-chan! ^.^

Yup! You read correctly: (and quote me on this) 'I hate cuppies!' ^.^ And what exactly are cuppies? You should know (at least Pearly should. ^-^) *puts on the glasses and the lab coat* 'cuppies' = 'couples' as in 'two ppl relationships.' For those of you not familiar with fanpoodle-nese, it's a language that thrives on cutesy words.... So...no cuppies in chappies of ficces!!! *headdesk* (So much for the english language.... ^^;)

Cosplay dreams

You know you are too into cosplay when...you start dreaming about it. ^^; Last night, I dreamed that CCF and friends were cosplaying. O.O There were many different animes...but I think one of them were Kenshin. P-chan and Pearlly were cosplaying video game characters (Dynasty Warriors? ^.^) I was in another outfit, but I wanted to change into my Kikyo outfit. Hee, hee...it's a good thing I'm taking a cosplay break. ^^;

Forgotten cosplay moments....

There were some minor stuff that happened during otakon which I forgot to add to my con report. What I wanted to add were basically some of my experiences during cosplaying.... One of the funniest moments was when I was cosplaying Kikyo. An Inuyasha (female) came up to me, knelt down and tugged at my hakama. Looking down, she said 'Are you my mommy?' ^.^; Ultra cuteness! Another moment was when someone came up to me and complimented my outfit. The odd part was when she said 'I totally hate Kikyo, and I think she should die...but I think your costume is awesome.' My response was 'It's understandable, some of my friends prefer Kagome as well.' ^^; I didn't get much unique comments on my other cosplay outfits, being that they were more obscure...so I wasn't invaded by fangirls during those times. ^.^

Ebay day ^-^

I was pretty busy today, considering I only woke up at 2:30 in the afternoon. ^^; After searching on Ebay, I decided to buy my external hard drive...about 80 GB of external memory. ^^; Shopping around was pretty good and I even bought my last Gundam g-unit manga. *dances around the room* Now I can finally finish reading the manga. ^.^

I'm probably going to buy my harddrive sometime this month, because I need it to hold the mp3s thats slowing down my 10GB laptop. (Not to mention the scanlations that I haven't copied to CD yet. ^^;)

No romantic movies!!!

I went to the CCF fellowship and today's activity was movie. 'A Walk to Remember.' I hated it. It was a great movie and all...but I spent about 75% of the time wishing I was out of there. The other 25%, I was groaning at the idiocy on screen. I don't want to diss fantastic movies. Very touching, meaningful and all that crap, but I can do without it. You would think someone would warn me about this. I should've left then and there. <.< *pissed off*

Updates....

I have been pretty much boggled down by work that I can't think more than one thing at a time. (So much for multitasking.... ^^;) But I have very supportive co-workers, so thats a good thing. My back is still kinda sore, but I feel alot better after my mother clawed my back Chinese style.

You're married to who?

Otakus love Japanime. Sometimes they love the unique/stereotypical characters that inhabit the worlds. We all have our moments of "Kurama is mine!" and "I'm going to marry Kurama!" (ahem, P-chan ^.^) and we always will. But at the same time, we know the limits that allows us to live that dream and still function in reality. Sadly to say, not all otakus have the ability to hold on to their sanity. Below shows an entry of a girl that believes she is married to Sephiroth (Final Fantasy) and goes to visit him on the 'Astral Plane.' 0.0 Deranged insanity goes beyond the live journals as witnesses and ex-friends of the victim give their personal testimonies. Photoshoot Monday! ^.^

I finally took the outdoor pictures I wanted for my 3 cosplay outfits. ^-^ Some of the choice pics have been posted up so go check them out. When we have time for another photoshoot P-chan, I would like you to be the photographer. ^.^

Website meltdown....

You guys have probably seen the error messages that appear sometimes when you visit this site. Because of the large quantity of pics (from Otakon ^^;) the site keeps on exeeding it's 'data transfer' limit. (And it didn't even tell me what exactly is my limit...but oh wellz. The site will return within the hour, but I'll try to upload some parts of my site onto another server so that my site won't go down every time I have pics to show. ^-^ (Until I finish uploading onto a new server, please be patient as the error messages appear on the screen. ^^;)

As you may have seen from my previous entry, I was still hanging with CCF last night...until I returned home this morning close to 6am. ^^; Then I slept until 1:30pm. Which was pretty good in general, sleepwise.... Hee, hee...it was a good weekend and since I'll be set to sleep in a few moments, I should be wide eyed and awake tomorrow for work (hopefully. ^-^) Until then, oyasumi, mina!

Pump it up!

After church, the crew headed over to the mall for some quick sale shopping and then went to D&B for dinner and games. I finally (almost) reached the end of my game card with all the shooting and dancing I did (on Pump. ^.^) It was a lot of fun. Right now, the soreness in my left shoulder has returned and I'm in slight pain...but that is alright since I get one more day of rest. ^-^

You made it?

Yes I did. ^-^ Since I made cosplay clothes, I thought making something I can wear on a daily basis would be a good idea. My mother and I went to sleep at 2:30 am last night because we finished making a shirt that I designed. ^^; I drew out the pattern, cut up the fabric and my mother helped me sew it together. We finished it last night since I wanted to wear it today...and I did. ^-^ It's tanish in color, sleevesless and long. It's very comfortable. I will post a pic of it once I get a chance. ^_^ It looks alright, but I'm going to improve on it. I'm thinking about making a skirt next.... ^-^

Fanficy and piccy

Pearly, you asked me to notfiy you once I get in contact with the fanfic author of the fic I really wanted to read but never found again. Well, I did and she is e-mailing me the fic. *bouncy off the walls* ^.^ I can't wait! I remember it like it was yesterday...something about Kurama and Yaten and people attacking them...and Kurama sings.... *squeals* That was awesome...can't-wait!

The crazed life of an comp illiterate otaku....

Since there is a chunk missing from the last week of August blogs, I'll give you a quick cliffnotes version of what I have doing post-con. ^.^

Aug. 21 - My father left the evening we came back from the con.
Aug. 22 - I missed work cause I was exhausted. (must be post-con syndrome ^.^)
Aug. 23 - Go back to work (and chaos.) My work laptop is invaded by adware. >.< (Don't ask me how it happened...I have no idea.... ^^;
Aug. 24 - Computer hopping since my laptop is still out of commission.... Also, bought my Al and Ed plushes online. (2 for $25 ^.^)
Aug. 25 - Still computer hopping, and the office techie return the fixed laptop right before I leave. ^.^
Aug. 26 - Back to happily working on my laptop. Slept over Jen-chan's house since I have to go to a party on Saturday in New Jersey. (I could have gone home, but since I haven't seen any of my friends since forever, I thought I can at least visit one overnight.... ^^;)
Aug. 27 - Jen-chan and I talked until the sun rose. ^-^Zzz I spent the day sleeping in all transports: train, car, subway, legs.... I ate too much, showed off my above average skills in DDR (and surprised my co-workers ^.^ Go me, go me, go me....) and sang Disney all the way back to New York. (One male co-worker was in the minivan with 5 females. He said he lost his masculinity when the Disney Princess CD started playing.... ^.^) 140 from church slept over.
Aug. 28 - Church (me wiped out) and watched part of the VMAs at friend's house.

Aug. 30 - Back to work, laptop gets reinvaded (by the same adware. >.<)
Aug. 31 - Back to computer hopping. (See why my con report took so long? ^^;) Plushes arrive! *dances around the room* Kawaii!!!
Sept. 1 - Computer hopping, was able to upload report online, worked late since had no work today and monday. yay! *dancing in seat* Went home and slept. -.-Zzz

Hee, hee...my plans for today is to be lazy...but already I have thoughts to do some sewing and may even have a photoshoot for my '3' cosplay outfits. ^.^ We'll see what happens next. Give me a call, since I'll be home all day. (I'll put my cell next to me so that I'll hear it vibrate. ^^;)
