Group Photos Part 2 The photos here are a variety of group shots taken during Robert's service during World War I. The only face I've identified in them is my own ancestor, Robert, where he occurs. If anyone can tell me the name of anyone else here, I'd be thrilled to know.

"Look after the boy and also the chickens." Okay, nothing to do with the photo, but I thought the note was cute - it refers to his oldest son, Robert Arthur, born in August of 1914. His other three children didn't arrive until after the war had ended and Robert returned home to Canada. Grace and "Bobby" did visit England at some point near to the end of the war - several photos attest to this - though I'm not certain if it was even possible for Robert to arrange some kind of furlough. Robert is sixth from the left. |

"For my own Grace darling. from Robert with Love." Robert is second from the left. |

No note. Robert is to the rear, conversing with a nurse over a clipboard. The two of them seem the only ones unaware that a photo is about to be taken. |

No note. They've gone all out for Christmas with the decorations (I don't know for which year). Done very well, too, considering it's in the middle of a war. Robert is on the right, helping to display someone's medal for the camera. |
