Khartoum

We have finally reached Khartoum, Sudan's Pleasant and prosperous Capital. After years of Hearing tales of the city at the confluence of the Mighty Nile. Of Kitcheners rout of the City and More Recent tales of the "Nasty Sudanese" we were amazed by the friendliness and hospitality of the Sudanese people.

Our Home for a few days was the Blue Nile Sailing Club. On the Banks of the Blue Nile.

With a few days at the border preparing for the Desert we then set off.

After Days crossing the southern edge of the Sahara our only real problem was we broke one of the springs for the truck.

The sand matting wasn't as strenuous as we thought it might be, mainly due to the previous experiences we had in Mauritania.

Our Journey took us through some of the best scenery to date.

Cameroon

Unfortunately we had too short a time in the Lovely Country. and as such we all wanted to see some more.

Especially after 3 people went from Lagos through the south of Nigeria, went on a ferry and then headed north trough the Central Highlands of the magnificent country.

"Easy Going and laid Back"

Chad

We all had different experiences of Chad, almost all of us had exposure in some form of hostile people we hope that these were the exception rather than the people as a whole.

On the other hand we saw some great scenery and felt lucky to be able to pass through one of the least explored countries in Africa.

Nigeria

We left Lagos after our unplanned stop for 3 weeks and headed North to the Capitol Abuja, the city has obviously expanded quickly and the planning for infrastructure was well thought out. From their we headed for Jos and the central Plateau of Nigeria.
