The latest match ended 10-5 in a thrilling fast paced match. The match was contested brilliantly but Wilcon proved that this season they are playing some of their best football ever. This is due to a number of reasons including the Wilconers being 100% local and therefore have Wilcon in their hearts compared to a dysfunctional and distinctly foreign looking Priors Gate team. Also the Wilcon team are now playing football of the highest standard. This is largely due to the fact the whole team has grown up together and played football with each for a good 5-6 years. Anyway the scorers today were W.Pollard, M.Pollard, M.Mattimoe x2 and J.Mattimoe x6. The performance was spear-headed by young M.Pollard who to me showed great determination and 100% work rate. He played like all Wilconers should play and I the manager was proud of his performance. The great display was totally agreed with the whole team and hopefully the rest of the team can learn a great deal from watching the committment of him. In this match he played the best he has ever played in a Wilcon shirt and this should be the 1st of many man of the matches this season.
Wilcon Wanderers have just come through another victory over Priors Gate after a second game win of 7-2. The match was fiercely contested and some injuries occured for the Wilcon team this week. Before the match recent new boy A.Fletcher became the 1st casualty as he pulled a muscle during the past week. However during the game M.Mattimoe and W.Pollard suffered bad knocks. M.Mattimoe damaged his lower foot and had to be subbed while tough tackling W.Pollard was hit in the head by a player from the opposition
(allegedly former Wilconer J.Roe). Todays scorers were J.Mattimoe, M.Mattimoe, M.Pollard, an own goal and W.Pollard with his 1st hat-trick of the current season.
Today Wilcon Wanderers played their 1st football match of the season against a very foreign looking Priors Gate. The Wanderers won 5-0 and showed a very spirited performance with the debut of A.Fletcher. The scorers were
J.Mattimoe x2, M.Mattimoe, A.Fletcher and M.Pollard. Also W.Pollard played a good match as the captain now for a record of 5 seasons and also S.Pickford acheived Wilcon's only 2nd ever clean sheet and man of the match performance after a series of world class saves in the 1st half.
To be fair to the opposition though they were good, well organised and match fit but Wilcon's spirit and top performance payed off. This was Priors Gate 1st match since the former manager Shaun Burns retired from the local football circuit.
B.P. could be the new home of W.W.F.C. due to the fact the old ground of The Cut is currently under major reconstructions.
Two Wilcon Wanderers stars have under gone unbelievalble training over the past year and are playing superb football at present. These players will be named at a later date, possibly as rumour has it at the Wilcon Player of the Year ceremony which is the biggest event in W.W.F.C.'s season.

Priors Gate ( the gaties ), the closest rivals probably couldn't field a large side.
Also McClean ( the cleaners ) do not play at all now they have lost there last manager and oldest players. |
