The document's role This document will attempt to gather information covering a wide range of issues to explain the purpose behind the database. It will also provide some explanation into constraints and difficulties that need to be resolved. There is a scarcity of Australian information. However, there is considerable information available from overseas, particularly American and Canadian sources. We propose to post a list of publications, research material and reports as links to visit. Click on the link to publications along the side to see the list. These will be added to from time to time.
MCSCAN Australia asks Victims, their Carers and families, to support us in this project by forwarding the requested information. We believe the end result will result in pressure being brought on the governments to take action. We also ask Victims if they would be willing to include separately a short summary of their experiences of MCS e.g. a day/week in the life of a victim and their family to show how badly it effects the lives of all. These database stories will be shown on this site. To protect identities and confidentiality all will be given an alpha-numeric name, instead of personal name. We will be constantly posting progress reports on this site as they come to hand. Check
periodically on the Progress Report link along the side.
DOCUMENT'S PURPOSE IN AIDING THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE DATABASE The purpose of the document is to consider the wide range of issues that relate to the condition knows as MCS (multiple Chemical Sensitivity) that need to be considered. Unless there is a greater understanding of what causes the condition it is fruitless approaching any authority with a view of gaining support, research, etc. MCSCAN Australia sees a role to consider any way that will bring it to the attention of governments for consideration and appropriate action, e.g.:-
