November 1, 2004 -->  Create flashcards for the most popular 55 elements of the PERIODIC TABLE (Due Wednesday, November 3rd).

October 27, 2004 --> There will be no homework for the remainder of the week, unless a student has missed work due to recent absences.  The students will be watching Apollo 13 in class from Wednesday until Friday AND creating a timeline of events.  TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE TONIGHT!

The Chapter 2/3 EXAM (Exploring the Universe) is scheduled for Tuesday, October 26th.  STUDY!

October 21 and 22, 2004 -->  NO HOMEWORK!  Suggested websites for the Apollo posters:

October 20, 2004 --> Complete:  pg. 112 (1, 2), pg. 119 (3, 4), pg. 125 (2), and pg. 131 (1).  The six questions are worth 18 points and due tomorrow at the beginning of the class period.

October 19, 2004 --> Study 3-3 in the Exploring the Universe textbook.  Tomorrow in class, there will be a quiz on the Phases of the Moon, Solar/Lunar Eclipses, and the Tides.

October 18, 2004 --> Read pages 120 - 125 (3-3 Phases of the Moon) and study for a vocabulary QUIZ.

October 14, 2004 --> Create a poster that illustrates and describes the four seasons experienced by Earth's Northern Hemisphere.  Copy and color the picture from page 108 in the textbook.  Describe:  1) the relationship of the sun/Earth's tilt, 2) the effect of the sun's rays, 3) the amount of daylight, and 4) the dates of each season.  DUE TOMORROW!

October 12, 2004 -->  Define and illustrate the vocabulary terms from 3-1 and 3-2 (page 133 - W/D/I).

October 11, 2004 --> Complete:  pg. 91 (2, 4, 5, 6) and pg. 96 (2, 3).  DUE TOMORROW!

October 6, 2004 --> No homework!  There will be a quiz on the planets of the solar system on Friday, October 8th.

October 5, 2004  -->  Complete the Chapter 1/2 ESSAY:  In detail, 1) describe how the universe formed from one piece of matter and 2) describe how part of the remaining matter became our solar system.  The students must include information about the Big Bang Theory and the Nebular Theory.  THIS WILL BE A GRADED ESSAY ON THE CHAPTER 2/3 EXAM!

October 4, 2004  --> Complete: pg. 59 (1, 2) and pg. 63 (1, 2, 3).  Study Chapter 2 flashcards for tomorrow's vocabulary quiz.  For extra credit, create an acrostic for the order of the planets (My very energetic mom just served us nine pizzas).

October 1, 2004  -->  The student should create flashcards for the 15 vocabulary words in Chapter 2 (found on page 99).  The flashcards are due on Monday, October 4th.

September 27, 2004 - October 1, 2004 --> The students will create a PowerPoint presentation that describes and illustrates the planets of the solar system.  The majority of the work will be completed in the computer lab; however, the students should create an acrostic for each planet for homework using pages 64 - 86 in the textbook.  An acrostic is when you use each letter of the word, in this case the planet, and write a factual statement/sentence.  The completed presentation is due on Friday, October 1st.

September 22, 2004 --> Complete Chapter 1 REVIEW SHEET!

September 20, 2004 --> Complete:  pg. 37 (2, 3) and pg. 42 (2, 3).

September 15, 2004 --> Study for Constellation QUIZ!

September 9, 2004  -->  Study for vocabulary QUIZ!

September 7, 2004   -->  Complete 1-1/1-2 vocabulary (W/D/I - page 59).
