Hi Margaret,
This is a follow up from previous e-mail. Both Betty and I will
be delighted to attend the meeting in February. Let us know if we
should bring any information along with us on the day.

Hi Margaret, Hi Ladies,
Greetings from Ithaca up state New York. Managed to get here just
before Santa but not without a cold. Anyway here are my seasons
greetings, for a well working transport system throughout the holidays.
Now to the work part of this message - we have a meeting in Cambridge
on the 1st February on information communication technology and
transport and I was wondering whether two ladies from Moor Park
would be willing to join me on the presentation. It would be a small
meeting but we could put together a three day package in cambridge
for two members of the explore club. By the way Len Steve and I
viewed your site from Hong Kong with colleagues and they were most
impressed.

I went to catch the 12.16pm 356 bus at St Thomas Moore. I arrived
at the stop at 12.05 and waited until 12.45 for it to arrive (50
minutes for a 1/2 hourly service). Coming back, the 14.28pm 356
left North Shields at 14.24, and was at Murton Farm by 14.31 - 4
minutes before it should have reached Chirton! Don't they have a
timetable? |

I suffered a fall at North Shields Metro in January 2001 - witnessed
by passengers and the cleaning staff - and reported to the station
staff: an entry was made in the accident book.
I needed a great deal of physiotherapy as a result of the fall on
the wet stairs, and I made a claim for compensation for the injuries
caused. (There were no slippery floor warning signs on this staircase,
there being only one warning cone for the entire station and it
being employed elsewhere in the station, so I was told)
NEXUS (the Metro operators) rejected the claim despite it being
reported, their cleaning staff witnessing it, and a recommendation
from their insurance brokers that an ex gratia payment shoud be
made. NEXUS say that paying compensation for an accident would set
a precedence and will only encourage other people to make claims
if they have accidents... It's an interesting form of customer care
that leaves customers uncompensated for injuries caused on your
property through no fault of their own.
Has any one else had trouble with NEXUS rejecting legitimate claims?

I waited for a 356 for 35 minutes yesterday (it's supposed to
be a 1/2 hourly service). Today, as I travelled on one towards
Newcastle, 2 passed by in the other direction in the space of
10 minutes. The service is becoming so unreliable, and no-one
seems bothered.

Hi Margaret and Ladies of Moor Park,
We're here in North London looking at your website and are very
impressed.
Heard that you sent a very nice map of transport difficulties
in your area to Cathy Francis at the Cabinet Office.
If you want help putting it up on your own website, let me know.

I attend Hebburn College and use the Number 44 as part of my transport
route to get there. Several times the 9.35 has not arrived at
Westminster Avenue and as a result I am late for College. My tutors
are not taking too kindly to this as they see it as my problem
how I get there and don't see buses not turning up a valid excuse.
Come on Operators, we residents in small communities deserve better
treatment than this.

I work in Newcastle and travel by the number 44 route. several
time a week the 9.35 bus has not turned up. This is affecting
my employment as by bosses are not happy, the result of this I
have been warned about my late timekeeping. This is so unfair
as it is not my fault as I am at the stop in plenty of time. While
I am being taken to task the operators are pleasing themselves.
Will they find me a new job if I lose this one through a bus service
that can't stick to its scheduled time?
