Trace out a bottom board at least 1/4" thick and cut it out.

 Bottom board glued on and the hard corners that need to be rasped off indicated by the hash marks. Note I cut my bottom board rough, glue on and then sand to fit on the sanding station
 
 
 Body finished. The hashed out area is where the head will go and will need just enough rasping to flatten for the head.

Scribe a pair of square lines on the top and side to line up your pattern on. Transfer the pattern and drill out a hole the size of the eye. (the Mike Harde method) If you are not using glass eyes, drill a small hole as a reference for eye location. Head patterns are on page 6

Note: The heads for Frankenscoters focus on simplicity and durability. This bills and simple shaping are what they are intended to look like. 
 
 

 Cut the head out top side first and then put a few drops of hot melt glue to reassemble the head
