Letters to the Editor

on "Dependence Day—Why Celebrate?"

Dear Sentry,

As a veteran of WW2 i agree with you on the article you wrote about "Independence" day. You are right when you say most kids today have no idea why our "Founding Fathers" did ,what they did. They put their lives on the line so that we could enjoy what no one else in the world had "LIBERTY". I lost a lot of good friends who gave their lives for the same reason. I myself thank God that we had people like that. Without them we would be living in a world of Hitlers, Stalins and Tojos. We need our teachers to teach the history of our country not politics. Thank you

Eugene J. Boone

Dear Eugene,

Thank you for your comments on Sentry over America's article "Dependence Day--Why Celebrate?"

As a World War II veteran, Eugene, you are a true hero to me and to all of us in the country who crave liberty. Veterans of World War II fought for our freedom and liberty. For a time, your fight did preserve it for us—temporarily. What Sentry over America is critical of is that the country that was founded on freedom, and our freedom that the veterans of the wars fought to preserve, is slipping into a socialist state. It is the objective of Sentry over America to produce articles and commentary to stimulate all Americans into action who will fight for liberty, just as our founders did and as our military heroes did. If Sentry's articles are ever taken as anything other than a rally cry for us to fight to reclaim our lost freedom, then someone has not read the article close enough.

I ended this article with "I think I will spend Independence Day watching Saving Private Ryan while I reminisce about those gallant men who died—in vain—to keep our country free." The "in vain," unfortunately, reflects the stark reality of the growing socialist state.

You gallant man of World War II are owed our deepest gratitude. I will pass down my thanks to all of you to my descendants and ask that they do the same. I hope that one day July 4th, Independence Day, can be celebrated in honor as we return the country to a more constitutional state as we reject the socialists that are now entrenched in Washington. It may take a rebellion among the people to get our freedom back. Until then, celebrating July 4th is like a divorced couple celebrating their wedding anniversary—it is quite inappropriate.

Why should we celebrate the current socialist state? We should spend the day at Arlington in remembrance of our founding fathers and for those who served our country fighting to preserve our freedom. Then, we should all spend the remainder of Independence Day in a demonstration in Washington fighting to oust the socialists destroying our great country. Eating hamburgers and waiting for the fireworks on Independence Day while we are in a socialist state shows the depth of stupidity this nation has sunk to.

We owe it to our founding fathers to reclaim our lost freedom. We owe it to the veterans and to those who died at war fighting to preserve that freedom. And we certainly owe it to our descendants that we reclaim our lost freedom now so they may grow up in a country that can call itself once again the land of the free just as we once did.

You are an American hero, Eugene.

Dear Sentry,

Sorry to say you are correct . . .

The universe is not large enough to accommodate the brain dead American public . . .

SARTRE

Dear Sartre,

Hi my good friend! All you, I, and all patriots can do is keep both barrels blazing at the elected Republicans for not fighting the socialists. Only 56 founding fathers. Amazing. We have not had 56 patriots in Washington total in the last twenty years. Currently, we have only three or four. Celebrating "Dependence Day" is like a divorced couple celebrating their marriage anniversary. Exactly how stupid is the collective American brain?

Dear Sentry,

Wonderful column.......wish more people like you could see and understand the truth of what is happening to this once great country of ours. Keep 'em coming. We'll win this war yet!

Dear Sentry,

Thank's for the well written article. Too bad this can't be put in every news paper in America. We know the socialist (communist) press would never allow this to see the light of day. Bush is one of my biggest disappointments when he let Bubba Clinton get by with treason and other high crimes. There is no resemblance to the America I grew up in and the America I see today. I feel like we are finished, and we never fired a shot.

Bob Miller, Clovis, Ca.

Dear Bob,

Thank you for you comment on my article "Dependence Day--Why Celebrate?" Patriots today do not celebrate Independence Day. Do divorced people celebrate their marriage anniversary? It truly is pathetic to see so many people celebrating "freedom." How can an entire nation be so blind to what is happening. Can they not even look at and read graphical charts and see the trends in the percentage of non-taxpayers, illegal aliens, waste, fraud, etc.?

Bob, check out issue #9 titled "Mincing Words in Slave State USA" subtitled "Let the Rebellion Begin." Since the majority of the voters now are non-taxpayers, the ability to change things at the voting booth has vanished. A rebellion is the only answer to reclaim our lost freedom. Odds of success are high. Why? Because although we are in the minority, we control the dollars that get confiscated from us and sent to Washington. The question is, will we be sheep and go to slaughter? Or, will we rebel and be like our founding fathers who fought for their freedom. Best wishes to you and your loved ones.

Dear Sentry,

Your clever usage of "Dependence day" made me think "Boy, I wish I'd said that!" And what a pity that "Saving Private Ryan", made by Comrade Spielberg, is the closest thing to a patriotic war movie that's been made in the past twenty years. Of course part of the reason for this is that German-Americans are not hypocritical whiners like every other ethnic. We are still allowed to call Nazis the enemy, even though it's a violation of Political Correctness to do so with any other human subcategory.

Dear Sentry,

SENTRY, WELL DONE MY PATRIOTIC FRIEND!! DO YOU THINK WE HAVE ANY HOPE FOR RESTORATION OF FREEDOM SHORT OF A REVOLUTION, AND HOW COULD WE WIN WITH 55% OF THE SHEEPLE& THE GOVT AGAINST US KEEP PLUGGING

RON POWER

Dear Sentry,

A-M-E-N. Want to know why? read "The Road To Serfdom" by Friedrich A. Hayek. It's about "economic security" ie all the serfs depend on the tyranical GOV for their "security" not the Lord Jesus as the Bible tells us. just remember the pledge: I pledge allegiance to the flag, of the United Nations, and to the obliarchy for which it stands One world, under satan with serfdom and suffering for all!
