It looks as if her family has abandoned her by going off to a hot springs resort and leaving her behind. Left all alone, Honami calls Eri and they go out on the town, but Honami inadvertently tells her about the last conversation with Yajima. Eri is enraged, and Honami is alone again. "Well then!" says Honami and she harasses Ryusui for dropping her by smearing his car with toothpaste and faxing him a list of her resentments. Ryohei hates to see Honami like this. Life continues on, but one day Honami's attention is caught by a circled date on the calendar - tomorrow's her birthday! Just then Jun'ichi calls from the resort. Good Timing! But all he has to say is a reminder to take out the trash. This really gets to Honami and she unthinkingly dials Ryusui's cell phone. "I'm not calling you because I still love you," she says; "A woman's resentment is a terrible thing!" She keeps talking and talking and Ryusui listens silently, sometimes smiling at her comments. He suddenly asks her, "Why me?" Honami's answer tugs at his heart as she says, "But you don't have anything...no friends, no freedom, no time.....and you don't have anyone you truly love..." The next day after all this Ryusui discovers Honami peering intently at something in a shop window. The object of her attention is a toy monkey clapping its cymbals. Her sad-looking face weighs on his mind but that night she again comes to the Fujishima building - drunk and with Yajima. Seeing her Ryusui is angry and disappointed. This time he harshly scolds her. But Honami won't be cowed. She lashes out, "You didn't do anything for me when I was in tears!" and goes directly with Yajima to his home. However, Eri unexpectedly shows up....
