Jay Dreaming

upside down and backwards? Music and Recordings I'm a professional musician of over thirty years and am available for sessions playing in a wide variety of musical genres. I have an album release called "Dreamstate" , and you can download a sample wav. file of one of the songs from my Music and Recordings homepage.

Art of Music Recording Studio I own and engineer "The Art of Music" sound studio in Floyd County, VA. I help singer/songwriters as well as bands to record their original music in a professional environment with the latest in technological musical equipment.

Musical Connections Check out my Musical Connections page, where you can read about my friends and connections in the music world. Many of the bands I've been in over the years are mentioned here, as well as artists I have recorded in the studio.

Poetry I write poetry and have participated in the Southeastern U.S. regional Poetry Slam as a participant from the Roanoke, VA team. Some of my poetry posted on these pages has been published on other websites as well as some local print publications. I recently was chosen for publication for an anthology of poetry being put out by the International Library of Poetry and poetry.com. My poem, "Dancing In Our Dreams", is in their their Winter 2001 edition, entitled "Nature's Echoes". My most recently published poem is featured in the Spring 2001 edition of "The Poet's Feast", a publication of Velvet Touch Press in Roanoke. If you're interested in reading poetry and getting insights into my mental, emotional, and spiritual landscapes, check out my Poetry page.
Art I have been doing artwork for some years and create brilliantly colored geometric designs and intricate patterns in precisely drawn forms. A known artist that comes closest in comparison of style to my particular mode of expression is that of Viktor Vasarely, a contemporary French artist whose work is sold through and hangs in the Circle Gallery in NYC. Go to my Art Gallery if you'd like to see some of my paintings.

Dreamspell I've been studying the Mayan cosmology, including the Mayan calendar known as the Tzolkin, as interpreted recently by Dr. Jose Arguelles. This calendar has a periodicity of 260 days, containing all possible permutations of 13 tones by 20 glyphs. The Mayans also had a solar calendar of 364.2422 days, 3/10,000ths of 1 day less than the presently accepted measurement of the completion of one rotation of the Earth around the Sun. But the 260 day calendar was the sacred calendar and coincided with galactic and earthly synchronous rhythms. Each day had a certain quality depending on the combination of a "tone" and a "glyph". Dr. Arguelles studied and reinterpreted these to create the Dreamspell calendar - a modern, updated version of the classic Mayan sacred calendar. For more detailed information on all of this, see my tutorial on the Dreamspell Calendar.
Rainbow Gatherings I often go to the national Rainbow Gatherings. For the uninitiated, these gatherings take place in a different national forest each year where thousands of us pitch tents, sometimes stay for weeks (or longer), participate in workshops, trade at the trading circle (no money is exchanged at the gathering), play music by the bonfires at night, help in the communal kitchens, and generally create moments of magic amongst our kinfolk... the depth of what one personally experiences at one of these gatherings is indescribable for the most part.

UFO's An avid interest of mine (or pet peeve, if you will) is studying the Ufo/Gov't. Cover-up Connection. I've spent a lot of time on the Internet pursuing this subject. I feel that being aware of this secret history is of utmost importance, not just to me, but to the welfare of humanity as a whole. The more I read and study this phenomenon, the stronger my conviction that the eventual exposure of this far-reaching web of deceit will lead to vast liberation from governmental excesses and oppression. It's not just time for our leaders to come clean about how much is kept from the general public concerning our own welfare but for the people themselves to recognize that all is not well with the state of affairs concerning the governance of nations and its populations. Information and knowledge are the great liberators and the Internet is a service provider to all of humanity in this way. The more we become aware of the injustices that abound, the sooner we can do something about them. You'll find a link to a different site for each term mentioned on this page. These links could keep you busy for many hours to come. Be forewarned! Go to my UFO page.
Honey, they're here!

Quotes of Authors I have a web page devoted entirely to Quotes of authors of my favorite books. Most of what you'll find here is of a philosophic and spiritual nature, which, for me, is often the most sensible, practical, and inspiring reminders of the principles of living a balanced life. These are all culled from an ongoing notebook I have been keeping for years. I often look them over myself to remember how large life can be.

Community I'm currently living in Floyd, VA in the Copper Hill area. We're an Intentional Community focused primarily on art, music, and spirit. We have 10 acres of wooded land in the Blue Ridge mountains with spectacular views, clean air, and pure water. If you'd like to know more about community living, check out my web page on intentional community.

Zen Bones My band is called "Zen Bones" and you can check out our performance schedule on our home page, and find out a little about each of our band members.

Fotos of Friends and Family This is a page with some Photos of people in my life (including myself).

Links Here's a list of my favorite Links, including many on science, the cosmic perspective, intentional communities, alternative building, music resources, animated gifs, map atlas, weather cams and various other things I've bookmarked along the way. Surf the Net!

Earth Changes One of the newest additions to my website is a page on Earth Changes. Here you can read about the latest finds in science, predictions about our near future, and what you can do to prepare for what might lie ahead. You'll find information on pole shifts, global warming, volcanoes, the sun, polar ice cap melting and more.

Let's go for a ride!

Monorails Take a ride to my webpage on Monorails. This is about the future of transportation - an energy efficient and environmentally clean method of travel. One day in the near future you'll be falling asleep in your car instead of driving it. Find out all the things about monorails you never wanted to know.

Hovercraft I recently published a new webpage on my idea for innovative travel of the future via Hovercraft controlled by a Global Positioning Sattelite, more commonly known by its acronym - the GPS. Hop in and go for a spin in my air-cushioned car from the future.

Sekaya's Home Page Here's some words from my 10 year old son, Sekaya, who enjoys playing on the computer just as much as I do. Sekaya also will show you some of his latest artwork on his Art Page.

SPECIAL!

Tibetan Monks Tibetan monks from the Ganden Jangtse monastery visited the Roanoke/Blacksburg area of southwestern Virginia in January. I was fortunate enough to be able to host them for six days. The opportunity of having them here was a life-changing experience. They had three sold-out shows and we're ready to see them again. I await their return to infuse their unique signature of wisdom and balance in the Western World. To find out more about their unique presentation, check out my webpage on them.

Back DoorHere's the Back Door to my website. This'll give you a choice of wild send-offs into the backwaters of Internet webpages when you're done looking at everything here. Be adventurous!

MusicThis is a relatively new addition to my website. It's a music tutorial with sound. You can hear intervals, scales, and chords played via MIDI files. The page is far from exhaustive in its scope but it might just help you to begin to understand the underlying concepts of music theory. If you like it and want to see more, let me know. If I get enough feedback (not the kind from an amplifier), I'll work on extending the range of this Music Theory Tutorial.

Dancefree This is a new webpage and it's all about dancing. From Contact Improvisation to Yogadance, and from Barefoot Boogie to Trance Dance, you'll find out all about the art of Freedance. Dancing is an expression of one's soul. When you begin to tune into the rhythms of your body, you get in touch with your inner ecstasy. Dance on over to my Freedance page and learn about these exhilirating dance forms and what it's all about.

Elberon Ranch My latest webpage addition is on the Elberon Ranch, a nature preserve in the heart of the city of Long Branch, NJ, where I once lived. You can see some pictures of this magical haven and read about its history. The Ranch's existence is now threatened by commercial development and may soon be sold.
