Family...
I've got one brother, Micky, and one sister, Francine. Micky now lives
in Kona, Hawaii with his wife, Erin, and two of his four children, Julie
(currently living at my parent's house), Michael, Justin (now in the
US Air Force, and Amy. My sister
lives in Jackson Township, New Jersey with her husband, Mark Omark, their two
sons, Mark, and Stephen, and baby daughter, Emily. My parents moved back to
Long Branch, N.J., where we grew up. I have some other
family photos you could see if you'd like.

Micky was born August 6th, 1955, a Leo, and is an avid surfer. That's
why he moved to the big island of Hawaii - to be near good surfing at all
times. He's a general contractor and has his own business and builds custom
homes. His wife, Erin, worked as a legal secretary for years and then was
leading dive tours for private dive charters in some of the most beautiful
reefs in the world - on the west coast of Puerto Rico, in Rincon, where they
lived for 6 years. Puerto Rico is a beautiful tropical island and I
vacationed there four winters in a row.
I met some wonderful people
there, including an Englishman, Richard, who runs a bed and breakfast in the
mountains next to a forest reserve, and some artists living in the heart of
Old San Juan.
Fran, born January 2nd, 1961, a Capricorn, works as an exucutive secretary.
She's online so we email back and forth and keep in touch about family
matters. Her husband, Mark, learned the tile setting trade from my father,
has his own business and keeps quite busy most of the time. They have a nice home
and often host holiday dinners for our family.
My dad, John, has been in the tile business since the mid-'50's and is
still at it although he's fast approaching retirement age. Before that, he
used to own a gas station and before that he worked on helicopters in the US
Air Force. He and Mom bought a condo in Florida a few years back and go on
frequent vacations at various times of the year. He's a Virgo, born on
September 5th, 1932, and is a really good story teller. He's originally from
Perth Amboy, NJ and met my mom sometime in his high school years through some
mutual friends that have remained their close friends 'til this day.
My mom, Carol, likes to collect antiques, play yahtzee at home and
slot machines
in Atlantic City. She and I went to the same high school and actually had the
same chemistry teacher (who was quite old even when my mom was in school).
She's an avid reader and a big sports fan. She's got 8 grandchildren and often
helps my sister out with childcare during workdays. Her birthday is February
19th, 1934, on the cusp of Aquarius and Pisces. She always finds me the most
thoughtful and loving birthday cards of anyone I have ever known.

(in blue), mom's sister (white shirt), and cousins Marty and Joan (back to

Friends...
My friend,
FREEDANCER has a couple of websites describing her work, play, and her
intentional community, Kyn Hearth, here in Floyd County. You'll find some
informative links to environmental concerns, health and diet, and
polyamory.
JUNIPER, is a good friend who owns
two shops; one in Blacksburg, and one in Roanoke. They're called "Seeds of Light"
and besides selling beads and beading supplies, she sells jewelry,
musical instruments, imported clothing, CD's and tapes, original arts and
crafts, stained glass, candles, incense, gems and minerals, books, greeting
cards, and many more gift items too numerous to list here. Check out the
"Seeds of Light" webpage.
DAVID PEEL
also has an extensive homepage with quite a list of music-related products
he sells. I've helped David in the recent past with an ongoing music project.
He came down to visit from NYC a while ago and performed at the Pine Tavern
in Floyd. David hung out with John Lennon, Mick Jagger, and others and is what
I call the quintessential street musician. He is often on the Howard Stern
radio show and he has a spot in Howard's newest movie.
B. RAD PERCUSSION
is a company started by my friend, Brad Miller. He has a patent on a
foot-operated variable pitch drum and currently hand makes each drum. He's
sold them to a number of well-known drummers including both Micky Hart and
Bill Kreutzmann of the Grateful Dead, and Pat Mastellotto of King Crimson. He
and I have worked on a band project on and off for the past few years.
ALEX FUNK has helped me out
immeasurably in consulting for computerese (which I am, at times, woefully
ignorant) and also has a design company specializing in computer graphics
applications. Alex got my page linked to the
ARTISANS
OF FLOYD COUNTY homepage which is where a bunch of creative friends
have their beautiful arts and crafts displayed.
ALAN and BONNIE are friends of mine who live in Santa Fe and their home
page has some excellent pictures of Bonnie's artwork. I especially like
"The Basket".
GESUNDHEIT INSTITUTE in West
Virginia is a place dedicated to giving free medical care to those who
can't afford it. It's a very wonderful place and the staff there is totally
voluntary. Patch Adams started the place and he travels the world healing
people through humor. A really cool place to visit. I played music at a
benefit the last time I was at Gesundheit and Patch was a very engaging host.
To now have Robin Williams portraying him in a movie about his life is a
wonderful tribute to the work of Patch Adams in the field of healing.
JOHN KRUTH is a fine musician and plays a plethora of exotic instruments.
John is in the process of publishing a biography of Rahsaan Roland Kirk. He
has a web page where you can listen to and order his music online. Check
out that acoustic instrument in his hands. Kruth has also done some
recording with us here at the community and we look forward to his
next visit.
MIKO is a friend of mine from
Blacksburg, VA. Click on his button to get to his homepage. He's got an excellent
guide to HTML code for creating webpages, and is also available for hire for
webpage design.
Visit all my friends at the
OPTIMAL HEALTH ASSOCIATES, also in Blacksburg. Hypnotherapy, Acupressure,
Yoga, Massage, and a plethora of services for the well-being of body, mind, heart,
and soul.
I see my good friends, DORIAN and
AMETHYST
at the Rainbow Gathering each summer and you might even find the video online
of the Rainbow Heartsongs. This is
the latest addition to my friends page. Dorian has some wonderful pictures from a
lot of the previous gatherings you might want to check out.
A friend of mine, TONY CIMOROSI,
has a webpage on his music. He plays a six string bass and his music is jazz and
latin influenced. On his solo album, "NY International", you'll hear Randy Brecker,
Michael Urbaniak, and other well known jazz musicians accompany Tony on his
compositions.
BOB MAUS lives in Malibu, CA and does
webpage design as well as own a state of the art recording studio. You can check
out a number of his webpage design projects or even download some of his original
music from his own webpage. Tell him I said hello.
A Rainbow brother friend of mine has his webpage dedicated to his poetry. There's
also a lot more including alternative technology and spirituality. Go visit
THE BARD and get a
taste of his unique vision.
I played music up in NYC for a while and one of the fine musicians I had the
opportunity to perform music with was an incredible sax player named
DAVE BINNEY. He's got a
webpage on his music and CD's worth checking into.
A guy I used to be in a band with years ago has a great website devoted to his
music and is actively performing at the Jersey Shore. Go visit
SAM COOPER
and tell him I sent you. His new band is called "Hey Betty" and includes Frank
Ravaschiere and Mike Folkenflik, two old and very good friends of mine.
A local craftsman in Floyd I know has a webpage with a lot of his handcrafted
furniture and musical instruments.
PAT FENN calls his business Harmony Hill.
CAROL CASSIS
is a musician friend of mine who has a webpage devoted to Saint Cecilia,
patron saint of musicians. You can become a member of the St. Cecilia society
and she'll send you a medallion and certificate.
One of my original connections to the Floyd County area of Virginia is a
talented potter and sculpture artist named
JAYN AVERY who has a
webpage with some pictures of just a sample of the beautiful work she does.
A very good friend of mine who lives on the west coast is a life purpose
coach and she has a website devoted to her work and writings. I constructed this
website before the further revisions now mentioned on her page. Here you can find some
wonderful and inspiring stories, resources on the web and a whole lot more.
AMARA ROSE can help you to "Live Your
Light".
Originally from Cincinnati,
MARK KENWORTHY, is a solo keyboardist performing his inspiring celestial music at
many venues. He has tapes and CD's available and a website to find out more. Mark has
recently moved to Floyd County here in VA and has a nice homestead at the southeast
corner of the county in Willis.
STARROOT
is a visionary artist with a very fine homepage.
Check it out. There's also some music, some of which I helped produce in
my studio and some of which I played on. Starroot is a "Mayan daykeeper",
and has an extensive knowledge of the "Dreamspell" calendrics.
She has given workshops on this and also does Mayan oracle readings.
A friend of mine who lives nearby here in Floyd County,
ANGA MILLER, has a clothing
company called Winter Sun that
employs many people from a small village in Ecuador called Otovalo. You can find some
beautiful clothing designs here and a company devoted to helping its employees be successful.
Anga also has a wholesale outlet here in the town of Floyd. Her husband, Pepe Aranda, is a
fine musician and has a band called Solazo. They play here when they're in town.
PILAR SANCHEZ, a friend of mine from Spain who
lived for a while here in Floyd County, has a website devoted to dance, including flamenco,
archetypal, modern and belly dancing. Her dance school is called
Puella Lunaris´ Danza Mediterránea® School.
Check out the innovative expressions of this fine dance instructor.
I played in a blues band in NYC for a couple of years with
Flamin' Amy Coleman. She's one hot soulful
singer and besides being a powerful blues singer, she also does theater and cabaret.
You can find out more about her and her upcoming schedule on her webpage.
GARIUS HILL is a musician/producer living in NYC and has a
webpage with info on his music, music production, multimedia, and his family. The consummate
music theorist, Garius once toured with Miles Davis and is one of the nicest guys you'll ever
want to meet.
