The Kdam
The 1985 "Kdam " was held in the "Binyaney Ha'ooma" building (Placing of the 1979 Eurovision) in Jerusalem, and was presented by the TV news host Dalya Mazor and the comedian Natan Datner (winner of the 1987 Kdam). Izhar Cohen, who won the 1978 Eurovision Song Contest, won this year's "Kdam" with the song "Ole Ole" (Going Up), which became one of the most popular songs in Israel's music history. This gave him the opportunity to go the the Eurovision for the second time, and he is actually the first and the last performer ever to win two "Kdam" contests.
Other well known artists in this year show were Yardena Arazi, who sang the huge hit "Od Nagi'a" (We Will Reach It) but unfortunately reached only the third position. Le'a Loopatin, who was a member of the "Chocolad Menta Mastik" group with Yardena Arazi (See 1976 for more details) and Shimi Tavori, a mediterranian singer.
