Vom studia omul ca si o unitate. Nu fiziologia sa o data, psihologia sa alta data, psihicul sau alta data, biologia sa in alta data, si spiritul sau in alta data. Noi vom pune totul impreuna. Noi vom face un desen, pe care il vom numi poza omului. Ia o foaie de hirtie si fa un V mare. Cam a treia parte a sa in sus, hai sa tragem o linie prin acest V, si cam iar o treime in sus, trage alta linie. Din punctul acestei lini, deseneaza o sageata mergind in afara.
Scrie portia inchisa de la baza Corpul Fizical. Cutia din mijloc hai sa scriem Constiinta pe el. Deasupra ei pune un X in spatiu in care liniile se intind in sus in infinit, acela va fi X. Este aspectul nelimitat al mintii, (ex, Spirit, Inteligenta, Sursa Biologica... ca si in algebra, cind stim ca ceva exista, dar nu-l putem numi). Constiinta si corpul fizical este limitat. Un cerc este arcuit inconjurul sau, care reprezinta mediu inconjurator. Deseneaza o linie punctata care trece prin constiinta. Deseneaza o alta linie punctata din corpul fizical catre contiinta, deci sint doua sageti venind in constiinta din mediul inconjurator si din copul fizical. Amindoua acestea vor fi numite. Cea din mediul inconjurator este impresiile si cea din corpul fizical sint senzatiile. Acum toate sint defapt senzatii, pentru ca ele merg prin corp ca sa ajunga la constiinta, dar anumite ideologi sau crezuri vin din mediul inconjurator fara a avea vreun sens al lor necesar la inceput. Sint impresii constante si senzatii apasind pe constiinta. Constiinta are doua functii de baza:
1. Decide ce este adevarat.
2. Decide ce are valoare.

Uita-te deci la Poza Omului O SENZATIE Unul poate ca a experimentat la un anumit timp sau altul niste iritatii catre sistemul nervos... si a simtit de ca si cum insecte merg pe corpul sau. Unul ar putea sa se uite si sa vada ca nu e adevarat. deci nu o sa inceapa sa puna sprei de insecte pe el. O IMPRESIE Unul are multe impresii care se dovedesc a nu fi adevarate. Umul s-ar putea sa vada un curcubeu si arata foarte mult CA SI CUM AR FI O STRUCTURA PERMANENTA CIND se uita la el pt. prima oara in viata, dar unul stie si interpreteaza acest lucru ca fiind o iluzie opticala din pricina razelor solare in actiunea prizmei cu vaporii de apa, si unul stie ca acesta nu este o structura permanenta. Am vedea ca luna vine pe un deal si arata ca si cum luna ar fi pe acel deal. Sensurile noastre spune ca asa este, dar noi interpretam acest lucru ca fiind neadevarat. Noi punem valuare pe fiecare lucru posibil pe care il experientam. Daca unul pune valuare pe ceva (ca ii va da placere sau comfort sau ca ii va da durere), unul incepe sa reactioneze bazat pe acest lucru pentru ca unul a dat aceasta impresie lui X. Constiinta evalueaza dadindu-si seama si simtind, orice impresie sau senzatie ca fiind adevarata sau falsa. Impresia merge apoi la X. Acum.... X intotdeauna face lucrul corespunzator si potrivit pentru informatia pe care o primeste de la constiinta si apoi functia corespunzatoare continua in mediul inconjurator si ciclul este completat. Impresia vine in constiinta, constiinta are atributul sa interpreteze fiecare senzatie sau impresie ca si validitatea adevarului si valoarea sa. Acela este ce merge la X, care este principalul Vietii, care nimeni nu-l poate defini. Stim ca daca X nu este prezent, forma de viata se opreste sa existe, incepe sa se desintegreze rapid si nici o functie sau adaptare nu ia loc. In timp ce X este prezent, daca vreun obiect foarte fierbinte ar atinge pielea, este o sensatie care unul stie ca este ars, si interpreteaza acest lucru ca si fiind dureros si periculos, si pune valoare in a se indeparta de acel obiect. X se indeparteaza de obiect, se adapteaza, va face o basicuta. Daca acelasi obiect fierbinte este pus pe o structura fizicala in care X nu exista, va incepe sa coceasca acea structura, dar nu va forma o basicuta. Nu este nici o adaptare. Noi putem desena acelasi desen din nou cu aceleasi trei divizii si functii. Noi vom avea o harta in continuare pentru observarea noastra asupra sufletului nostru, ca sa vedem ce se intimpla defact, si sa ne dea o intelegere de ce se intimpla in legatura cu noi. Am spus in o discutie mai inainte ca atunci cind o persoana a avut un motiv fundamental de a trai(adica un progam de baza) ca acea persoana a reactat, intotdeauna cu acel program de baza, sau acea ideologie de baza. Deci.... in centrul V-lui , chiar deasupra corpului fizical si inauntrul constiintei, hai sa facem jumate de cerc si sa il coloram negru. Acum, acesta este motivul trairii fundamentale al omului(Sa nu fie tulburat sau deranjat) care a fost facut inconstient ca si nou nascut. CIND PROGRAMAREA DE BAZA S-A FORMAT Probabil in procesul de nastere, o persoana a avut un motiv fundamental de a trai care a fost o programare de baza si din care o persoana intotdeauna a reactionat. A existat si cumva constient in lumea prenatala, lumea uterului, unde a plutit intr-o existenta fara provocare, nici sunete mari neasteptate si bruscate, caci erau infasurate prin straturi de tesuturi moi si apa care inconjura copilul. Copilul nu a fost subiect la schimbari bruste in temperatura chiar daca temperatura mamei mergea in sus, si jos vreun grad sau doua, nu a fost fortat, nu i-a fost niciodata foame, pentru ca mincarea a fost aprovizionat pentru copil inainte ca el sa-i fi fost foame. Dar nasterea este un proces al mortii, pentru lumea utera, si fiind nascut pe lumea paminteasca care este o lume cu totul diferite. Totul este ciudat, sint tot felul de senzatii nefalimiare, schimbari pe neasteptate in temperatura, neasteptate lovituri, poate o iritatie in ochii copilului de la argintul nitrat, fiind restrictionat de haine, si orice numar de alte situatii nefamiliare care vin pe neasteptate. Deci, infantul "cu simtamint" (desigur, nu cu cuvinte, dar vom pune cuvint pe simtirile lui) vine la o idee fundamentala de baza, ca motivul trairii, el decide ceva cam asa. "Motivul trairii este ca sa recuper starea de netulburare prin a cistiga si prin a scapa". Primul, vom vrea sa cistigam comfort sau placere- senzatiile care ne place. Altei persoane poate ca nu-i place aceleasi lucruri care apar comfortabile sau care ne da placeri noua, sau orice senzatie vrem ca sa cistigam sau sa scapam. Acum, acest lucru, ai zice, este idealul care a fost stabilit ca sa obtin si sa am permanent in existenta ca statul de netulburare prin a cistiga placere si comfort si a scapa durere pe toate nivelele. Foarte rapid, infantul decide pe un curst a lui de imbunatatire. Aceasta este prima idee care infantul are ca sa-si imbunatateasca situatia, ca sa cistige mai multa placere si mai mult comfort, si mai ales, sa scape durerea. Acesta este alta decizie, Un al Nu Eu, El decide ca felul de a cistiga placerea si a scapa durerea la acest nivel al jocului este ceva cam asa: "Este important sa am dupa placul meu si felul prin al obtine este sa ma pling". Acum copilasul nostru incepe sa se plinga prin a plinge. Multi din noi inca mai folosim plingerea cind nu primim dupa placul nostru, dar am gasit alte metode mai sofisticate ca sa ne plingem. IN ACEASTA SAPTAMINA, SCRIE JOS: FELURILE MELE CUM MA PLING Af fi ca ma prefac ca sint ranita la inceput, sau poate ca ar fi prin as face ceva prea mult, ar fi prin a bea prea mult, ar fi prin a pleca din casa si ar conduce foarte tare pe strada, etc, etc, etc. Noi vom arata aceste notite catre toti. Ele sint personale si pentru iluminismul meu personal, not cu idea ca vrem sa ne lasam de acest lucru, dar ca sa capatam mai multa informatie. Inainte ca sa facem ceva, noi trebuie sa stim ce se intimpla aici. Citeva saptamini mai tirziu, ca infanti, noi am invatat o alta tehnica. Cind ne plingem, si cind nu am capatat ce am vrut(pentru ca parintii sau saturat de plingerile noastre spunind: Lasa-l sa plinga) am gasit o alta cale. Infantul a simtit ca are dreptul ca sa scape de discomfort ca el are dreptul ca sa fie luat in brate si a fi leganat(un alt fel al comfortului) sau ca el are dreptul ca sa-i fie dat de mincare acum. etc. Bebelusul de sigur poate numai sa plinga, sa-si tina respiratia, sa se faca albastru la fata sau alte secrete pe care bebelusul invata. Foarte rapid, mama invata ca el este doar suparat si nu mai ia in serios ca sa aiba grija de el mereu. Oricum, el el poate sa fie asa de nesuferit cu comportamentul sau beligerant (care este o alta forma de comunicatie) si de obigei primeste citeva rezultate cu acest comportament. IN ACEASTA SAPTAMINA, SCRIE JOS: CUM SAR IN SUS LA DREPTURILE MELE. Tine un jurnal al tau pentru toate acestea. Acum... Infantul a mers si a continuat, nu in conflict cu sufletul sau, dar numai in mediulinconjurator. Cind mama nu mai poate ca tot plinge si se tot plinge, ea incepe sa se plinga si ea si sa se scoale vrind drepturile ele de asemenea, Deci ea insista ca cel sa faca un efort fundamental de a se imbunatati. Tu sti ca majoritatea imbunatatirii este sa iei din tine ca sa te imbunatatesti ca sa nu fi deranjat, tulburat, si nestresat. Mama, prin eforturile ei, are puterea convingerii prin sugestiile ei, posibil sugestii fizicale, care produc placere si durere, si alte senzatii varioase in micutul nostru, care el trebuie sa faca un alt efort ca sa se imbunatateasca, in schimb ca sa primeasca placere si sa scape durere "este important ca sa ii multumesc pe toti". Acum... Cel mic zimbeste, face diferite lucruri pe cind el incearca sa opreasca, belligerind ce ii aduce durere. DECI UN ALTUL IN LISTA OBSERVARII ESTE: Cum Am incercat ca sa ii multumesc pe acesti oameni. Acest lucru aduce o impartire a constiintei. A si B. De sigur, B va fi batuta foarte des si va fi de foarte multe ori cin A va da ideea ca ce este adevarat si valoros pt. X A face acest lucru, cind B va spune in curind "Acum ai intrat pina in git, Ai gresit si ai facut rau" si unul incepe sa simta ca emotia de baza ca nu a fost intentionat niciodata pentru om caci el nu este echipat ca sa reziste in fire. El incepe sa se simta vinovat, regretind. Deci unul este in conflict acum. A spune "Pai hai sa o facem" Poate B este adormit si nu va fi nici un argument. A merge inainte, dind ce este adevarat si valoros lui X. B se trezeste si spune, "Acum ai intrat pina in Git" si trimite un mesag la X ca lucrurile sint intr-o stare teribile si unul se simte teribil. Poate B trimite cuvintul primul, apoi A se trezeste si spune, "Noi nu primim niciodata nimic ce vrem, mereu trebuie sa facem ce vor ei ca sa facem". Acesta, de sigur, este simtirea de inferioritate sau de mila insusi, care astazi este numita depresie. Deci, infantul foarte usor incepe in acest lucru un statut de conflict inauntrul sau. El incearca sa gaseasca o cale la impreunare. Un pic mai tirziu, unul este adus in contact cu oameni diferiti in mediul inconjurator care spun "Tu trebuie sa faci asta si asta ca sa multumesti sau ceva teribil se va intimpla" SUGESTIA INCEPE. -daca esti bun, Mos Craciun o sa iti aduca cadouri -Daca nu esti bun Mos Craciun nu o sa iti aduca cadouri -Daca nu esti bun, vei avea tot felul de probleme mari -Daca nu-l multumesti pe profesorul tau, o sa pici din clasa lui -Daca il multumesti pe profesorul tau, o sa iti dea o nota buna -Daca traversezi strada, politaiul te va pune in inchisoare, deci stai pe trotuar -Cind in scoala profesorul spune ca trebuie sa mergi la director daca nu esti bun, atunci directorul devine ba baul Acum, cel mic vine cu ideea ca sa faca o alta decizie ca si: "Este important ca sa cred si ca sa fac totul ce imi spun autoritatile astea". in aceasta saptamina sa scri jos: cum cred ce cred eu, pentru ca a fost din ceva sau de la cineva pe care eu i-am considerat ca sint autoritati. Noi am fost trimisi la scoala si am invatat ca sa repetam ce este in carti, deci am inceput sa credem in ce este tiparit in carti ca si cum ar fi o autoritate. (De atunci am recunoscut multe alte autoritati). Deciziile pe diagrama C numarate 5 si 6 vor fi subiect la urmatoarea discutie. Voi desena aceste poze ale omului conditionat de mai multe ori in timpul cursului alor aceste discutii si vor fi diferite accentuari mici despre ce vom vorbi la acel timp. Dar... Ideea de baza ramina aceasi... Ca sintem conditionati ca sa avem un motiv fundamental ca sa nu fim deranjati..... ca constiinta noastra este impartita cu toti Nu Euri- experientate ca si ginduri creind un razboi intern, rezistenta si conflict in incercarea de a reusi sa nu fiu tulburat sau sa nu am nici o durere. In acel caz noi nu controlam satul nostru propriu intern. In acel caz noi nu putem deloc sa vedem ce se intimpla. Felul in care putem controla statul nostru intern este sa schimbam motivul trairii noastre complect. Intradevar, acela este singurul lucru care noi putem schimba... Acela ne va tine destul de ocupati in aceasta saptamina... in acelasi timp cu totul ce am facut pina acum. Numai bine. DAR INAINTE CA SA COMPLETAM ACEASTA PAGINE, UITE AICI O ALTA DIAGRAMA ALEI DECIZII DE BAZA, SAU MOTIVUL MOFTUROS DE BAZA AL NOSTRU. ca sa compasam fizicalul, mentalul, emotionalul, si transcendentalul, cele 4 forte de baza Deci: Acesta fiind intotdeauna motivul care va aduce conceptul la ceea ce este bun. Prima decizie a bebelusului este ca motivul trairii este ca sa nu aiba durere si sa nu fie tulburat, lucru care este experientat in primul rind pe un nivel fizic, apoi dupa citeva luni, pe un nivel psihic de asemenea. Mai tirziu, este experientat pe un nivel emotional, si apoi si mai tirziu, pe un nivel transcendental. Basic Picture Of Man The following is taken from The Teachings -- Tape 2 -- By Rhondell -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are going to study man as a unit ..........not his physiology one time, psychology another time, his psyche one time, his biology another time, and his spirit another time. We are going to put it all together. We're going to make a drawing called the picture of man. Take a piece of paper and make a large V. About a third of the way up, let's make a line across the V and about another third of the way up, draw another line. From the very point of it draw an arrow going outward. Label the closed portion physical body. The middle box, let's put awareness. Above it put X in the space that no matter how far you extend those two lines, that would still be X. It is the unlimited aspect of mind (i.e., Spirit, Intelligence, Biological Source........just as in algebra where something is known to exist but cannot be defined). Awareness and physical body is limited. A circle arcs around it, which represents the environment. Draw a dotted line into awareness. Draw another dotted line from physical body to awareness so there are two arrows coming into the awareness from the environment and the physical body. Both of these will be labeled. The one from the environment is impressions and the one from the physical body is sensations. Now all are really sensations because they go through the body to get to the awareness, but certain ideologies or beliefs come from the environment without necessarily having a sense of it first. There is constantly impressions and sensations impinging on the awareness. The awareness has two basic functions: 1. Decides what is true 2. Decides what is valuable A SENSATION One may have experienced at sometime or other some irritation to the nervous system......... and having a feeling of insects crawling on the body. One could look and see that it was not true, so one wouldn't use insecticides or start picking ants off oneself. AN IMPRESSION One has had many impressions that one interpreted as not being true. One might see a rainbow and it looks very much like it is a permanent structure when one first looks at it; but one knows and interprets it as being an optical illusion due to the breaking up of sun rays in a prism action with water vapor, and one knows that it is not a permanent structure. We may see the moon come up over a hill and it looks as if the moon is lying on the hill. Our senses say it is, but we interpret it that that is not the truth. We put value on every conceivable thing one experiences. If one values it (that it is going to give pleasure or comfort, or produce pain) one begins to act upon it because one has given the impression to X. The awareness evaluates, WITH FEELING, any impression or sensation as being true or false. It then goes to X. Now X always does the appropriate thing for the information it receives from awareness and then the appropriate function takes place into the environment and that cycle is completed. Impression comes into awareness, awareness has the chore (attribute or function) to interpret every sensation or impression as to its validity of truth and its value. That is what goes to X which is the "life principal" no one can define. We do know that if it (X) is not present, the living form ceases to exist, begins to rapidly disintegrate and no function or adaptation takes place. While X is present, if a very hot object should strike the skin, there is a sensation which one knows as burn and interprets it as being painful and dangerous, and values getting away from it -- X gets away from it and adapts, it will make a blister. If the same hot object is put on a physical structure that X does not inhabit, it will start cooking it but it will not form a blister - there is no adaptation. We can draw this same drawing again with the same three divisions and functions. We will have a further road map for our observation of self to see what is really going on and to give us an understanding of what goes on about us. We said in a previous discussion that when a person had a fundamental purpose of living (a basic program) that the person then REACTED, always with that basic programming or basic ideology. So............... in the center of the V, just above the physical body and inside the awareness, let's make a half circle and color it dark-black. Now this is man's fundamental purpose of living (to be non- disturbed) which was made unconsciously as a newborn. WHEN BASIC PROGRAMING OCCURRED Probably in the process of being born, a person had a fundamental purpose of living which was a basic programming and from which person always reacted . He had been existing and somewhat conscious in the prenatal world, the uterine world, where he floated around in a la-de-da existence. There were no challenges, no sudden loud sounds because they were muffled through the layers of soft tissue and water that surrounds the child. He was not subjected to sudden changes in temperature even if the mother's temperature went up and down a degree or two, there were no drafts, was never hungry because food was supplied to him before he could be hungry. But the birth is a process of dying to the uterine world and being born into the earth world which is an entirely different world. Everything is strange, there are all kinds of unusual sensations, sudden changes in temperature, sudden blows, maybe an irritation in his eyes from silver nitrate, being restricted by clothing, and any number of other sudden unusual situations. So the infant "with feeling" (of course, not with words but we will put a word on his feeling) comes to a very basic fundamental idea as to the purpose of living. He decides something like this: "The purpose of living is to regain the nondisturbed state by gaining and by escaping." First we want to gain comfort or pleasure -- the sensations we like. Another person may not like the same things that seem comfortable or pleasurable to us, or whatever sensation we want to gain or to escape. Now this, you might say, is the ideal that has been set up to regain and have permanently in existence that nondisturbed state by gaining pleasure and comfort and escaping pain on all levels. Very quickly the infant decides on a course of self-improvement. This is the first idea that the infant has to improve his situation to gain more pleasure and more comfort, and especially to escape pain. This is another decision, another Not-I, it decides that the way to gain pleasure and escape pain at this stage of the game is something like; "It is important to have my way now and the way to get it is to complain." Now our little one starts complaining by crying. Most of us still may use crying when we are not getting our way, but we have found more sophisticated methods of complaining. This week write down MY WAYS OF COMPLAINING. It may be by pouting, putting on a hurt front, it may be overdoing something, it may be by drinking too much, it may be by leaving the house and driving speedily down the street, etc. We are not going to show these notes to anyone -- they are personal and for our own enlightenment, not with the idea that we are going to quit it, but to gain information. Before we can do anything, we have to know what is going on. Some weeks later, as infants we all learned another technique. When complaining did not get us our way (because the parents grew tired of the complaining, saying "let him cry"), we found another way. The infant felt he had a "right" to get rid of discomfort, that he had a right to be picked up and cuddled (one form of comfort) or that he had a right to be fed right now, etc. The baby, of course, could only cry, hold his breath, get blue in the face and other little tricks that the infant learns. Very quickly mother learns that he is just mad and doesn't exactly get carried away with taking care of him. However, he can be so obnoxious with this belligerent behavior (a form of communication) and usually gets some results. This week write down: HOW I STICK UP FOR MY RIGHTS. Keep a little running diary of these. Now.......... the infant was going along, not in conflict with self, but only with the environment. When mother has put up enough with the angry crying (complaining) she begins to complain and stick up for her rights. So she insists that the little one make another fundamental effort at self-improvement. You know that most self-improvement is getting other selves to improve so that I won't be disturbed. Mother, by her efforts, is convincing by suggestion, possibly physical suggestion, producing pleasure and pain and various other sensations in our young one, that he must make another effort at self-improvement, in order to get the pleasure and escape the pain "it is important to please them." Now the little one smiles, grins, does various things as he is trying to stop his belligerency which is bringing pain. So another in the list of observing is: HOW I TRIED TO PLEASE THEM. This brings the split in awareness: A and B. Obviously, B will be out numbered frequently and there are going to be many times when A gives the idea of what is true and valuable to X. A does this, then B will shortly say, "Now you are in for it, you did wrong" and one begins to feel that basic emotion that was never intended for man for he is not equipped to handle it. He starts feeling guilt (regret). So one is in conflict now. A says "Well, let's do it." Maybe B is asleep and there is no argument. A goes ahead, giving what is true and valuable to X. B wakes up and says, "Now you are in for it" and sends the message to X that things are in a terrible state of affairs and one feels pretty terrible. Maybe B gets the word in first, then A wakes up and says, "We never get to do anything we want, we just have to do what they want to do." This is, of course, the feeling of inferiority or self-pity, which today is called depression. So the infant very early starts into this - a state of conflict within. He is trying to find a way to oneness. A bit later one is brought into contact with various people in the environment that say "You must do so and so in order to please or something terrible will happen." SUGGESTION BEGINS! 1. If you are good, Santa will bring you gifts. 2. If you are not good Santa will not bring you gifts. 3. If you are not good, you will have all manner of trouble. 4. If you don't please the teacher, you will be flunked. 5. If you please the teacher, she will give you a good grade. 6. If you cross the street, the policeman will put you in jail, so you stay on this side of the street. 7. When in school, the teacher says you must go to the principal if you are not doing well, then the principal becomes a bug-a-boo. Now the little one comes up with a very similar decision like: "It is important to believe and do everything I am told by my authorities." This week write down: HOW I BELIEVE WHAT I BELIEVE BECAUSE IT WAS FROM SOMETHING OR SOMEONE I CONSIDERED AN AUTHORITY. We were all sent to school and we learned to repeat what was in the book, so we began to believe the printed word as an authority. (We have since recognized many other authorities.) The Decisions on the diagram below numbered 5 & 6 will a subject of the next discussion. I will draw these pictures of conditioned man a few more times during the course of these discussions and there will be small differences to emphasize what we are talking about at the time. The basic idea remains the same though.....that we are conditioned to have as our fundamental purpose to be non-disturbed.........that our awareness is fragmented with the "Not-I's" experienced as thoughts creating inner struggle, resistance and conflict in the attempt to acheive non-disturbance. In that case we do not control our own inner state. In that case we can not really see what is going on. The way that we can control our own inner state is to change our purpose of living completely. Indeed, that is the only thing we can change. That will keep us pretty busy this week......... along with what we've been doing so far. Have fun. It is also to our advantage to remember that every other person we meet during the day started with this basic programming. Doing the "work" can add a bit of understanding to our day--both for ourselves and others. Perhaps our day can be more enjoyable, perhaps we can make decisions easier and drop off some of the conflict that keeps us in turmoil and misery. I'd also like to remind us that we are to "observe without criticizing or judging"or even trying to change anything. It is also helpful to KEEP THE MOOD UP, and not make anything important........ --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
