The Uninvited
Guests in Posters
Exhibit 3: Early Adventures in Posters
>>>
"Dance Fun For All Ages." Possibly the
very first Uninvited Guest poster.
This landmark show brought the early
Uninvited Guests to Bogart's for
the very first time in December of 1984.
This however was not the first show in
front of strangers. The Convention Center
gig preceded this one. The first
Uninvited Guest pin was used as a
graphic and showed the promise of
TUG photocopyography.

"After November 17th." One of the many posters
used to advertise the Uninvited Guests debut
at the Plaza. This poster advertises the place and
the date without mentioning the band. There was
another type of flyer used at the same time which
advertised the band and names of new songs without
the promise of a gig to play these new songs.

"Historic Breakthrough." Mike B.'s favorite
poster. Before the Uninvited Guests played
with Brian Brain at the Plaza, there was a
show at Newport's historic Jockey Club. In 1988 the
Jockey Club ceased to be a venue for music and
became a showroom for limousines. There is an
interesting and detailed
tribute
for those who remember. As we remember the Jockey
Club, don't forget to patronize and protect
Newport's historic Southgate
House
which may, someday, be only a memory buried deep
under an aquarium without your support. (Hand
lettering and photocopying by Mike B.)
