Looney Tunes Newsletter 24-NOV-98

Hi Everyone,
Last week before the big sales out here and there are still very few new Looney Tunes items in the stores. No new toys that we have seen, no Matrix candles, solar motions or animateds and no Mr. Christmas to be found anywhere. This is cutting it a little too close for me! I sure hope they didn't get squeezed out of the market out here. Last year Targets, Sears and Montgomery Wards both had large sections devoted to them and this year they have only the basic ornament set. Is it this bad everywhere else? I sure hope not!

If you see any new items in stores, have any other news or would like to submit something to the newsletter please email it to me so I can spread the word!
Thanks,
Richard

Seen in Stores

-KMarts has 4 new coloring books in at 2/$1.00. The Tazinator, Yosemite Scam, Lewis and Bark, and Trojan Hare.
-Walmarts has a one-time use flash camera. I think they come in black or blue(the boxes were sealed) and have a filmstrip on the front featuring some of the characters. $7.97 each.
-The Studio Stores have a few more Christmas items that we missed. A silly straw with Tweety in his nest($3), a PVC of Sylvester holding Tweety($3), and a glass ornament set. There are 3 small ball type ornaments in the set and they have Bugs', Tweety's and Taz's faces on them($12).
-SavOn Drugs has the new Matrix Stocking Holders. These are nicely made. There are 4 this year-Sylvester playing ice hockey, Tweety unwrapping a present, Daffy skiing, and Taz eating cookies from his stocking. $12.99 each.
-There are some Slammers in the Studio Stores now. These are bean bag like characters that you slam into something to make them talk. There are 4 different ones and they didn't have the price on them.
-Targets has a film reel popcorn tin. The front has the LT intro logo with Taz, Bugs, Sylvester and Tweety coming through it. It comes with 8 oz. of caramel popcorn. $5.97. Thanks to Bruce for the tip!
-Targets also has holiday and regular ties in. $9.99 each but they regularly run them on sale. All different characters including some Yosemite Sam. Thanks to Bruce for the tip!
-Savon Drugs/Lucky's also has the 15" battery operated Bugs made by Matrix in 1996. He is dressed as Santa and is checking his list. $24.99. Thanks to Michelle for the tip!
-The Looney Tunes Christmas CD is in at most most of the department/drug stores. It features 12 songs sung by the gang and ranges in price but is usually around $7-$8. Thanks to Steve for the tip!

Looney News

-Looking for Looney Tunes buttons and borders for your webpage? Check out Bunny's Borders at http://members.xoom.com/LiSeamone/backgrounds.html . She has some very nice holiday sets.
-The Studio Stores have a Bean Bag Collector's Card now to make sure you have them all. Just ask for them at the desk. They list the new ones coming out later too. Valentines: Pepe Le Pew Prisoner of Love, Tweety Cupid. Easter: Bugs in carrot, Tweety rabbit. Novelty: Bugs Rabbit Season, Taz Motorcycle, Daffy Duck Season.
-We got our order from the school sale. All of the items are made by Giftco so you can probably find them in gift or party type stores. First was a set of 18 miniature ornaments. These are exactly like the set that came out last year but they have Christmas hats on. Next was a glass bell featuring Bugs. The ringer is a bunch of carrots. It is about 4" tall and there is also a Christmas version floating around. Next is a cookie stamp. It is shaped like a Christmas tree and you can imprint cookies before you cook them with it. This is a neat one. The next item is a Bugs Christmas candle. He is dressed as Santa delivering pacakges. The last items we got were a set of fan pulls. These replace the cords on any lamp or fan with a pull. They have Tweety sitting on a branch and Sylvester looking evil. Prices will range according to where you find them.
-The Looney Tunes kids camera kits are showing up in other places too now. Walgreens has them along with Walmarts. There are 4 different ones, Tweety, Taz, Bugs and a group shot one. Around $10. Thanks to Steve for the tip!
