THE PARK/SAME DAY
TITO and REMY are still talking in the park. Remy kneels down by
Danté and looks up at Tito.
REMY
You know, I know that being in jail must have been hard on you,
but this sudden life-examination of yours is weirding me out.
TITO
I can't help it, Rem. And it's not jail...I don't know...it's
just...it's a matter of wanting to be better than I am for
myself.
REMY
Look, I have to go. I've got to get Danté back to the house and
we've got a memorial service to go to tonight.
TITO
Don't cut me out of your life, okay? There's still a lot for us
to do.
REMY
(sighing)
There's nothing for you and me, Tito. I'll be your friend, but
don't get it in your head that we have a future.
HAYLEY walks over to them. Tito glances at her, and shakes his
head.
REMY
(looking at Hayley in puzzlement)
I have to go...I'll talk to you later, Tito.
TITO
Bye, Rem.
He watches her leave, then turns to Hayley.
TITO (cont'd)
I was wondering if you'd show up.
HAYLEY
I'm here. Say what you have to say.
TITO
Were you planning on telling me that you were pregnant?
HAYLEY
Would you have believed me that it was yours if I had?
TITO
Yes....I don't know. We were only together a couple of times!
HAYLEY
And that's all it takes, Tito. Once. Voila, you have a baby.
TITO
What are you planning to do?
HAYLEY
I'm not going to go after you for support, if that's what you
mean. And what I'm planning to do is none of your business.
TITO
(quietly)
If I'm the father, it IS my business, Hayley.
HAYLEY
All right. I'm giving the baby up for adoption.
Tito is speechless, and we:
FADE OUT
CASS AND LILA'S APARTMENT/SAME DAY
LILA is sorting through a pile of wedding pictures on the sofa,
Charlie next to her.
LILA
Oh, I like this one.
CHARLIE
Me, too...except I look like a dork! How about this one?
LILA
I don't know...your dad's got a little dorkishness in him there.
We should make sure we don't get any of the dorky pictures.
CASS
(coming down the stairs with Jasmine)
I resent that remark! I'm never a dork.
CHARLIE
Dad...you're a dad. You're SUPPOSED to be a dork.
LILA
(standing up and taking Jasmine from Cass)
There's my girl.
CHARLIE
Dad, is Rebecca staying with us while you go to the memorial
service?
CASS
Yes, she is. Lila, hon, are you about ready? We should get going
as soon as Rebecca gets here.
The doorbell rings.
LILA
That's probably Rebecca now. Charlie, honey, can you put these
away and we'll finish looking at them tomorrow?
CHARLIE
Sure.
Charlie begins putting the pictures away as Lila walks to the
door. She opens it to find a delivery person standing there.
DELIVERY MAN
Lila Winthrop?
LILA
That's me.
DELIVERY MAN
A delivery for you.
He hands her the clipboard to sign, which she does, then he hands
her a long, thin box. She closes the door as he turns to leave.
CASS
(coming over to the door)
What's that?
LILA
I don't know...a delivery for me.
She takes the top off of the box and finds a red rose nestled in
tissue paper. She lifts it out.
LILA(cont'd)
This is it.
CASS
Just one rose? Is there a card?
Lila searches the box, but doesn't find anything.
LILA
(shaking her head)
No card.
CASS
How strange. Well, we don't have time to dwell on it now. We've
really got to go. I hope Rebecca gets here soon---
He's cut off by another knock on the door.
CASS(cont'd)
Perfect timing. Let's let her in and get out of here.
As Cass goes to the door, Lila sets the rose down on the coffee
table, looking at it strangely. Then shaking her head, she goes
to the door to leave with Cass.

JAKE AND VICKY'S COTTAGE/SAME DAY
VICKY and MARLEY are sitting on couch as DONNA enters the room.
DONNA
Victoria, do you want another cup of tea?
VICKY
No, Mom. Thanks.
There's a knock at the door. Vicky gets up to get it, but Donna
stops her.
DONNA
I'll get it, you rest.
VICKY
Mom, I'm fine.
Donna crosses to the door and answers it. A delivery man stands
in the doorway.
DONNA
Yes?
DELIVERY MAN
I'm looking for Donna Love.
DONNA
That's me.
DELIVERY MAN
(Handing her a red rose)
This is for you. Have a nice day.
DONNA
Wait. Who's this from?
DELIVERY MAN
I don't know. Some man came in and insisted we deliver it to you
personally.
DONNA
Well, let me get my purse and I'll tip you.
DELIVERY MAN
Already taken care of ma'am. Take care.
The delivery man walks away as Donna closes the door.
DONNA
(to herself)
How odd.
FADE OUT
CORY MANSION/SAME DAY
CARL, RACHEL, JOE, and PAULINA are in the Cory living room
preparing to leave for the memorial service
PAULINA
Is Alli here yet?
RACHEL
No, she went to the park with Sean. She said she'd meet us at the
service.
JOE
Where's Amanda?
AMANDA comes in as Joe asks.
AMANDA
Right here.
CARL
How are you, Amanda?
AMANDA
If one more person asks me that --
CARL
Sorry.
AMANDA
I bet you are.
RACHEL
Amanda, please, not tonight.
AMANDA
Mom, I'm going to my husband's memorial service. I don't want to
do this anymore than you want to hear it. So, Carl, stay out of
my way.
Amanda walks out the front door.
PAULINA
Just another delightful evening with the Corys.
Paulina, Rachel, Joe, and Carl all leave out the front door.
