Anime Fiction does a good job is you want to be a witness to wild sexual romps between Faye and Spike, Keitaro and Naru, Nuriko and Tamahome, etc. But don't expect anything else besides jerky CG movements and bad voicing effects.
The Right Stuf's "dubbing streetteam from hell" returns as they lend
their voices to this tale of unwavering romance, reincarnated souls,
and the usual "wham bam." Four centuries ago, Genshiro and Ayame
decided to do their deed before the former goes off into samurai
battle. Fast-forward to the modern times, Takakage and Meiko have
their fortunes read by their childhood friend, Mayumi. Using this
to her advantage, and not realizing that something's wrong with the
picture; Mayumi states her love to the otherwise sexfiendish
Takakage. A nice little piece of work nonetheless.
Countdown To Delight is the second part of "Kitty's Pleasure Pack #2"
which also features "Stairs." It might have been given another
title before ending up on the American shores. But let me just
see where this goes.
"Countdown To Delight" is a bright and comical story about Motoki;
another one of those "college guys" who just wants to earn good grades
and such. But he's unable to do anything whilst his sister Megumi
and her girlfriend Eika getting it on in the next room. Eika
learns about Motoki's gay friend Yuji. But Motoki states that
he's NOT gay; so Eika gives him "a piece on the sly." However Yuji
comes by and gets angered to find his crush doing anyone of the
opposite sex. Add Eimi, Yuji's sister, into the mix and all hell
breaks loose. Afterwards, Motoki ends up meeting the kind and
wealthy Natsuki. He falls in love with her at an instant.
And he ends up being tutored by her; not even knowing that she's hiding
a secret that will snap him back to reality with neck-snapping speed.
Horrible dubbing (which is even worse than what people say about
NuTech's porn actress dubbing). But an enjoyable and comedic show
nonetheless.
I don't know if Anime 18's hentai listing gets worse or had been bad as
is. (Their roster includes lots of monster-porn ala Urotsukidoji,
the La Blue Girl series, and Venus 5. Their few jems are
Masquerade, Spaceship Agga Ruter, and Lunatic Night.) But this is
one of the low ones.
Four Play is not for the advanced hentai fans. This is strictly made
for those who wanna start out with non-beast and non-blackmail
material. It's a story about a couple college guys and their friend who
had suddenly turned nympho on them. Her looking like "Sailor
Pluto," and the return of the "dubbing streetteam from hell" doesn't
help matters either.
A note about how the dubbing went: I DO know that these kids are
NOT from college. And I'm sure that the orignal flub wouldn't
have been read so much like the funny papers. But by then I
wonder if the "brother/sister" scene had actually gone farther than the
two hugging each other.
Ninjas, wierd sex, ninja girls in short skirts, and a vehement Sailor
Moon running gag. (MMG, of the infamous StarBallz fame, should
learn from NuTech about how a sexy Sailor Moon cosplayer sounds
like.) That's Karakuri Ninja Girl for you. It's not that
graphic when it comes to the good stuff. But it's worth a laugh
or four. The story revolves around a loving young couple, going
by the ninja-esque names of Fawn Bell and Moon Shadow, who grew tired
of the life of a ninja and decide to escape; one way or another.
(And where was Fatal Fury's Mai Shiranui?) Another ninja, Morning
Mist, is hot on their tail for reasons of her own. Oh yeah...
Don't let the smirking "Joe Harley Davidson" scare you off.
Leatherman is basically "Trigun" in a modern setting. Cruz is the
title protagonist; an oversexed lackie who takes the money and some
"secret item" before breaking himself free from a crime
syndicate. He uses his luck and wit to take advantage of the
random women he meets. And all that while being chased by Shisui,
a former partner of his who apparently doesn't take "no" for an answer.
Jokes about the song "Bad To The Bone" aside; the CGI animation of
horrible, and nobody can decide which hair color whoever should
have. But we do get to see a lot of "boning." It's another
piece of hentai where you leave your brain at the door and enjoy it for
what it is.
Anime 18 must really be afraid to step outside. Here we have a
story about a young guy who goes to live with his stepmother and
adopted sister. There's also another story about a young guy who,
with the help of a maid, takes care of his stepmother. This is
practically the anime version of Eros Comix's "Super Taboo." It
has so much incest running around that it should be considered
illegal. The lazy CGI and bad English dubbing doesn't help
matters either.
Moko-chan is a rare gem, just like this OVA. She's a former nurse
who works at a brothel; saying that she wants to help guys out with
their problems... But, as her neighbor/co-worker states, she's
really a nymphomaniac. This is one of those "slice of life"
series where we see Moko deal with a buff stalker, a sappy college guy,
and popularity. Highly recommended for those who want
"down-to-earth" hentai.
This is suppose to be a cross between comedy and hardboiled drama; with
sex as a pure given. The subplot about the two brothers of a
broken family sure was dramatizing to say the least. And people
say that hentai, albeit 30 minutes worth of hentai, doesn't have any
plot. I guess the idea of "WHAM, BAM, THANK-YOU-MA'AM" that stays
close to home is sort of like the next level of hentai out there.
Two thumbs up goes to the good people who provided the voices for the
English dub. It's, by now, something one would expect NuTech;
even despite the near-ugly art and CG.
I'd seen the original Japanese version of the series. A few
people in power (like the woman who did the voice-over for OMG's
Belldandy) wanted nothing to do with it. And the only thing I
have to say for it is... No.
The OVA's basically a companion piece to the manga (which is now being
translated and delivered to drooling horndog readers in the US).
But the antics of Dr. Ogeguri, Nurse Ruko, and many of the other
sexually disabled characters herein is not something I'd recommend.
Renzu (Lens spelled out in Japanese phonetic) is probably another one
of those shows that have "childhood friends" try to grow out of that
phrase. Atleast from the guy's point of view. We have
Tohru, the soccer player who can't play soccer anymore. We have
Asuka (where NuTech pronounces A-SU-ka), a childhood neighbor who won't
do it out in public but will do it in front of a camera. We have
Mao, some sort of "goddess that comes down to Earth and blesses the
needy." And we have the purple-haired teacher who hates men and
doubles as a dominatrix.
The blonde buddy cliche herein seems to be the revenge upon shows like
TriAngle and Heat Of All Seasons. This blonde buddy sets up the
meeting between Tohru and Mao, as "insurance."
Anne, Layla, and Shion are the anime equivilant of "Charlie's
Angels." Which means they kick more butt, kill when the job
requires, and fling Yakuza thugs around like pieces of paper. And
all of this despite having Pink Pineapple's trademark sexiness.
This pretty much marks the end of the "tentacle sex" era, no matter
what the creators of La Blue Girl say about it. This OVA is a
one-shot where the ladies deal with loose cannon Vanessa Hammers and
the project she stole; a "bioborg" / "sex beast" which happens to be a
walking male genitalia factory. And said project is out of
control.
Being made in 1997, there isn't much "action" as hentai lovers would
like to see. The plot is very tragic as well. So be aware
when you buy this hoping for some "good stuff."
