Adventures in Arcadayn
Job Tables Index

By Tim Emrick

See pp. B192-194 for the rules regarding finding and keeping jobs. The following tables are largely a compilation of entries from several GURPS books (see references below). A few entries specific to Arcadayn have been added; these will be denoted by italicized job titles. The jobs pages are broken up by wealth level:

Adding New Jobs

When adding a new job entry, find an existing listing with a wealth level and prerequisites similar to the desired job. In many cases, the new job can simply change the listed skills(s) for related ones. Where no satisfactory model exists, use the following guidelines for income. These figures were established by comparing all jobs of that wealth level, so are necessarily very rough estimates. (Some entries taken from GURPS books have been edited to better fit these overall patterns.)

Poor Jobs: The minimum is either $25 or "$0 (living expenses)" for a Status -2 or lower job (serf, beggar, etc.). Servants and freemen (Status 0-1) typically make $100-$130. Some jobs may go as high as $150 (requiring 2 or more PRs at 13+) or $15 x stat.

Struggling Jobs: The minimum is $100 or "$0 (living expenses)" for what is essentially a Poor job with slightly more prestige (e.g., apprentice). The normal level is $20-$35 x skill, which might be paid by that formula or set at a flat rate based on the PR. Some jobs that require multiple skills (with at least one at 14+) might add $5 x skill for secondary skills.

Average Jobs: The normal level is $60-$80 x skill. The highest Average incomes are $90 x skill or a flat $1,000.

Comfortable Jobs: The normal level is $100-$150 x skill, with a PR of skill 13-15. A higher PR (possibly including capital or expensive gear) may raise this to $175, while multiple PRs at 14-15 and hazardous duty might go as high as $200 x skill. The highest flat rate is typically $1,500.

Wealthy Jobs: The minimum is a $75-$100 x all PRs, or a flat $2,500. The high end is typically "$5,000 and up".
