STATUS: Heel. Was feuding with Beckie the Farmer's Daughter over who has the best splash. Jungle Grrrl won the "splash" match with a plunge off a 15-foot ladder, and that feud seems to be over now.
WRESTLING: Jungle Grrrl is seriously good, not just good by WOW standards, but "on the path to Jimmy Snuka comparisons" good. She is best known for her aerial maneuvers (particularly the splash and diving headbutt), but she does some good slams and power moves too. She has been criticized for not selling her opponents' moves. I am pretty sure that, most if not all of the times she does that, it is supposed to be in character. She is presented as damn tough to beat, and with her skills, how can you argue with that characterization?
CHARACTER: JG gets a heck of a lot of time on the mic, and is quite articulate, for someone who is supposed to have been raised outside of civilization. She is one of few WOW women who has a decent catchphrase -- "Don't hunt what you can't kill." She has this corny cat-scratch motion thing, but gets away with it because she can back it up with her wrestling. This is one of the worst names in WOW by the way. That "Grrrl" just really bothers me. Is she supposed to be growling? Is she supposed to be hanging out with Courtney Love and Bikini Kill? It's just silly.
LOOKS: Her face is quite masculine, but I like her athletic body! Or maybe I just like the whole jungle thing! Who knows!
COMMENTS: JG is possibly the best ring performer in WOW, and for the foreseeable future, should always be among the top title contenders. For that reason, I would not line her up as a heel. WOW has plenty of characters already who pretty much have to be heels and deserve to be title contenders (Danger, Riot, Disciplinarian, Lana Star, Poison, Slam Dunk) . I would line JG up as apart from the face/heel fray. She should just come in, destroy people, amaze the crowd, and leave. That way, you can give her a title shot whenever you feel like it. And I think it would build up a mystique that is lost when she is made a generic heel.
I would also have her not say anything, ever. It would be kind of a shame since she is not bad on the mic, but I think it would also enhance the mystique, and be consistent with the character.
That's all assuming they want to maximize the potential of this gimmick. They could also tone down the gimmick and make her just an exotic high-flying wrestler like Superfly...
