Gundam Wing: Type Two |
In the year After Colony 199, the Earth Sphere Unified Nation appears to have put the menaces of war behind them at last. However, someone, or something, remains unconvinced. Two unknown factors will emerge on the Earth, and begin a most unpleasant turn of events. The result will be a battle not just for the safety of the Earth, but for the continued freedom of the entire galaxy. |
The true nature of Type Two lies hidden quite well in the actions and intents of the characters involved. This story is a bit of a parable involving my own conflicts with my faith, and the actions they perform to ensure their own agenda. The society of Eden is a representation of the Christian community in the area I live. Rather than live among others, most of my fellow believers have decided to seclude themselves in their own little word, "safe" from the rigors of those "secular heathens". The leaders of the community care little about spreading the word as they are commanded to do by the tenants of their faith, and care more about expanding their own wealth, and ostracizing anyone they decide is different from them. Meanwhile, the people inside the community remain oblivious to the atrocities their leaders commit, either because they can't see it, or simply because they don't care. The two main characters I introduce, Aelan Marcus and Kiron Gorrs, represent two halves of my psyche, each disenchanted with the methods of their leaders, but both deciding two VERY different courses of action. Aelan is the logical side of my persona, as evident by his tendency to think things out very carefully before perfoming any sort of action. He is caught in a very draining dilemma. As much as he feels that he must follow the commands that are set forth to him, he is unable to excuse the actions that the people above him are performing. Kiron on the other hand, represents my dark side. Rather than trying to enlighten others about the crimes his colleagues commit, he decides to simply destroy the leaders of Eden. However, following such a catastrophic path leads him to sieze control himself, and commit atrocities even worse than those who proceeded him. There is yet another character that I feel I should mention, even though she plays a relatively minor role in the series, Amore Doran. Is she a nice girl? No. Is she pleasant to be around? Definitely not. She is by no means perfect, but her dedication to her father, and the promise he made to return, embodies what I feel is the true essence of faith. Even when things seem the worst, she continues to believe in her father. She is seeking no material gain, nor is she looking to be lauded by those around her. THAT is what I believe faith should be about. Anyway, the episodes that comprise Type Two are below. Perhaps the synopsis above will help in your understanding of this particular series. |
