December 2002 ~ Meet the Chi's

Hope ya'll had a howleriffic holiday! Christmas around here was same old same old - only Santa was a little stingy this year. All I got were some chewies and a new bowl.

Now on to the Chi's...

Who are they you say? Only the most rotten little buggers you'll ever meet. I was relaxing in my room with mom when we heard the doorbell. Grandma got it, and shortly thereafter called for us to come downstairs. 'Xator has some visitors' were her exact words. Our curiosity peaked, we hopped out of bed and approached the staircase. Mom told me to wait while she investigated, and though I wanted to see too, I obliged.

After what seemed like forever she called me down. My paws were barely off the last step when a blur of motion flew towards me. They paused long enough for me to see that there were two of them. And yes, they were of the doggie variety. I was introducing myself when they decided that they wanted to be Mr & Mrs Tough Guy! Barking, lunging...the whole shabang. (Lucky for me they couldn't get past my shins.) But I, being the awesome host that I am, continued to be civil and patiently waited for them to settle. It never happened. The pint-sized couple did manage to leave me alone long enough to go puke and piddle in my living room. The nerve.

Just in case there's any confusion at all about the twosome:
They were   c h i h u a h u a s.

January 2003 ~ Another Year Goes By

Happy New Year folks!

February 2003 ~ Happy Birthday to MEEEE !

This year makes FIVE! That's 1...2...3...4...5 ! And I have to say it was, by far, the best birthday ever.

My birthday falls on an odd day. I share it with a housemate (grandpa's wife) and my aunt's bday is the day after, so mine just tends to get eclipsed. While everyone's fussing the over the ladies, I'm left to settle for an extra pat & treat, longer walk, and just maybe a toy. But not this year!...

The party started at 12am, Thursday the 20th. Mom flew out of bed at the stroke of midnight, and it was like morning all over again! She sang 'happy birthday' to me, then grabbed my tennis ball and we played and played and played. (In the basement, as quietly as possible since everyone was asleep.) We played fetch, tag, keep-a-way, and hide & seek...all my favorite games. We took a breather then headed for the kitchen and actually raided the fridge. Not only did I get a peice of the action...I got ALL of the action! A huge slice of birthday cake (not my birthday cake, but birthday cake nonetheless), peanut butter, yogurt, cheese, and a bunch of my other most favorite 'people' treats. When we came back upstairs mom gave me a full body massage, and whispered sweet nothings into my ears until I fell asleep.

Mom had to go to work ealier than expected the following morning, so we didn't have time for the excursion she was planning. Mom did tell grandma to give me extra special attention while she was gone, though. Grandma did exactly as she was told, but mom says she went overboard with the treats. I, of course, beg to differ.

When mom got home we went on the mandetory longer walk, but I was pleasently surprised to find an oh-so-yummy-smelling box upon our return. A week later I received the second box mom had told me about. Mom took 2 rolls of pictures of me posing with the stuff inside the boxes. They'll be up ASAP...saturday (3/08/03 at the LATEST!)

But what really made this birthday the most special of all were you guys...my pals! Thank you all so so so very very much for the woofunderful birthday wishes, greetings, and beautiful cards you sent. They will be on display for all to see along with the pictures later this week. Mom also found a nifty doggie/people age converter that she'll post with the rest of the stuff. (Not the ole' x7 trick.)

Update: Mom finally got my birthday pages up!! It's *never* too late to celebrate...
