Youth is wasted on the young?
What the fuck is that?
When was this cliché begun?
Why can't our parents just admit
that they don't get it?
Why do they have to be old bitter and dry?
Why do they have to try
and underqualify what we have
…just because we're young…
ya think it's easy
oh, I see, it's easy to be young
to not know how or why
or what to leave or what to try,
to tell a truth from a lie,
to feel alone
So
Alone!
But maybe that's not it
you said youth, right
youth is being young
it encompasses it and yet
you hate it
- if you hate youth
then you hate the young,
you hate hopes, dreams, love, life, future -
you use young like it's a bad thing?
Yeah, a bad thing
like chink, nigger, Jew, Jap
You can disregard what's said
You can turn your old wrinkled head
What the fuck?
you might as well be dead
you don't listen
you don't talk
you don't understand
