Shiro Tokisada Amakusa Bust

Amakusa has amazing weapon reach that almost extend to the end of the screen, but for that, he is disadvantaged in his speed, and is therefore a very defensive character. Coupled with his very useful teleport move, he can escape from being trapped in a corner and also avoid close combat. More defensive play have to be used with him, and being very much on the attack is not a good strategy.

Evil Hornet Gouger (Forward or Reverse)

The move bring Amakusa a fixed distance forward or backward, by turning the stick a quarter-circle forward or backward.

bulletIf Amakusa is close enough to the opponent before using the Hornet Gouger, he will appear behind him. Using this as a surprise, Amakusa can use his moves from behind, and there is a fair chance of a hit if the opponent try to do something prior to Amakusa's teleport - any action will make him face forward instead of turning around to facing Amakusa.

bulletThe Hornet Gouger move is a very good for avoiding projectiles by teleporting towards the opponent after the projectile is released. The opponent is then open to an attack by Amakusa.

bulletBecause the move makes it easy for him to surprise, Amakusa can use his moves on the opponent with a better chance for a hit. The 'Dash of death' and his Super is good to be used immediately after Amakusa teleport behind an opponent.

bulletAlso, the move can help to stall time for a time-out win by doing it repeatedly.

Underworld Lord Blast

A black electric orb which is the projectile move for Amakusa. When Amakusa use it POWed, the orb give several hits and deal impressive damage even if it is blocked.

Dark Destroyer (rightdowndownright+ slash, another to attack or D to stop) Dark Destroyer
A not very useful move which is easy to anticipate and can leave Amakusa exposed to an attack if it is blocked. A good way to use this is to teleport behind an opponent using the Hornet Gouger move, use the dark destroyer with the A button pressed twice to make it come down immediately for surprise. Also good for draining opponent of a little blood to kill them if they are on the verge of death.

Invitation to Evil (downdownleftleft+ slash) Invitation to Evil
Another projectile move, an unusual one which have to be blocked low. Very suitable for use after a teleport movement, as the opponent may not remember to block down even if they do turn.

Judgement Blow (rightdowndownright+ D)
Judgement Blow This move is a very good and indirect way of humiliating your opponent. One of Amakusa's better moves to use bacause it is very fast and can even catch opponents from the air to be given 26 tight slaps that does good damage.

Computer Opponent List.

First set:

bulletShizumaru
: Give a kick at a reasonable distance from shizumaru and use upleftC slash when he jump over. On the ground, use more of A and B slashes to avoid leaving yourself open to attack.

bulletRimururu: Keep a good distance away from her and jump back to use C slash in the air if she jumps over. When Rimururu uses her ice shield move or her Super, get behind her using the Evil Hornet Gouger teleport and attack her.

bulletUkyo: Crouch down and wait for him to attack (usually with a C slash or Concealed Sabre Haze Hack), and then use a downC slash after blocking. When Ukyo start running around, be ready to block up for his Swallow Swipe move before attacking him with a C slash. Amakusa's Invitation to Evil move is very good against him at a far distance; use it for Amakusa's projectile instead of the Underworld Lord Blast against Ukyo.

bulletTam Tam: Despite being the last character, he is very easy to beat, just by jumping backward and forward and using the C slash in the air against him when he jumps to attack or to use his fire-spitting move.

: Move in front of Charlotte to face her with the Evil Hornet Gouger move after she release her projectile move to attack her, and jump backward and give a C slash in the air against her if she jump over. She is also susceptible to downC attacks.

bulletUkyo: Same as above.

bulletGaira: A very offensive character who will keep chasing after you. At close range, he is very dangerous, and never try to jump over to him. Use the B slash several times on the ground if he tries to approach and jump backward and give a C slash when he jump towards you. He can be hit by the Underworld Lord Blast projectile quite often when at a far distance, but do not use if if he is already close enough to jump over if you use the projectile.

bulletSogetsu: Attack Sogetsu after he use his Moon Glow move with a downC slash. Teleporting close to him using the Evil Hornet Gouger is risky as he can strike Amakusa with a Moon Glow sprout after he comes out of the teleport.

Amakusa:
Trick him into using his slashes or projectile by giving a light slash, and if he react by giving a down slash (block first) or a projectile, attack him with a downC slash. Unless he jump first, do not jump over to attack him; you wil probably be hit by his B slash first. By manoeuvring around with the Evil Hornet Gouger teleport, get yourself into the corner and making sure he is not too far away, give A slashes crouching down and use guard crush on him when he teleport over.

Zankuro:
Playing defensively and waiting for chances to attack with a C slash after Zankuro uses his moves is the best way against him. Using the sideswitch and trying to attack him is not very reliable as Amakusa himself is slow too, and Zankuro may turn out to be faster. No moves are really effective against him, and only use kicks to keep him away when there is about 20 seconds or so left.

Hanzo:
The best way is to just keep using the Judgement Blow move against him; he will only block the first hit of the attack before getting himself slapped. It is all right to teleport away from him, but not towards him. Any attempts to approach him by teleporting will see him use the Ninja Shrike Dash if you are close, guaranteed.
