Whatever your
choice of holiday, it's that time of year for gifts and resolutions, and
I think it's time to give the Zone some ideas...
Who knows? They might even take us up on some of them. Stranger
things have happened after all....
So let me start the ball rolling (again).
How about the ability to completely ignore/block another player? One
of the most unnerving things on the Zone right now are the stalkers -
the ones who, for some reason, feel you have d'issed them in some way.
So they keep following you around, ZMing you nasties, and constantly
trying to engage you in an argument, or personally attack you in the
lobbies.
Let's face it - the Zone doesn't really seem thrilled at the prospect
of playing policeman, so why not just give the tools to everyone? Let a
Zoner mark a player or players as persona non grata.
By doing this, the player : - Cannot see you when you
are logged on. - Cannot zone message you. - Cannot Kibbitz one of
your games.
In addition, you can't see anything they post on the forum or in a
chat. And finally, this carries across nicks - make it associated with
the nic, IP and GUID. Thus reducing the chances that the player will be
able to avoid the ban.
So that's my suggestion. How 'bout you post your ideas to the Issues
Forum?
