Site check

Ok, i tried loading my page with IE and Netscape and the dynamic animations work on Netscape but not on IE for some reason.  But there are some drawbacks with Netscape and that is that there are some weird aligning problems with charts and tables.  So with IE you get better looks but animations wont work which means the menu wont show, Netscape you get the animations but weird little problems like aligning problems...it's your choice for now. I'll hopefully get things worked out soon.

Another site change

With all the problems my page has been generating and all the time i've been putting into trying to fix the shit, i finally gave up and said the hell with the frames! So there it goes, i ditched the frames and went with all tables becasue i suspected the frames were causing the problems. But as i was redoing all my pages taking the frames out and embedding tables in, i saw one of the problems I've been having with the DHTML for my side menu. I almost kicked my own ass for not seeing this mistake earlier, it could've saved me a lot of time from taking the frames out.....but oh well...frames are trouble anyways so they're gonna stay out for good.

Hopefully with fixing this DHTML error, you can now experience the full special effects that this site has in a number of places including in the menu, which should work. If not, i'll get to it soon.

Besides from the table changes, there are also a few minor changes in the pages also, you probablly noticed already. It's nothing major, just to make things a little more relaxing to the eye. Be forwarned though, my page is now using CSS and Layer layouts so IE 4+ and Netscape 4+ is a MUST.  Extensive testing have not been done with Netscape yet so you may or maynot have problems, i dont know yet. There most likely are still problems with IE which i'll try to figure out.

A great deal of my Archieves pages have not been integrated into this new design yet, so beware if you're planning on reading up on the past.

Message Board and other stuff

I'm hoping to have one up again soon, as soon as i get enough time on my hands.  I'm still battling with school, which isnt getting any easier so things will be a little behind. I'll also have voting polls in the future with various topics you can vote on, it'll be fun. What do you think about a chat?  I'm debating on that...

Ureal Tournement Stuff

I know i dont talk about many other games on my page besides Q3 but the hell with it, here's some UT news for ya.

There was an expansion pack released early Friday that includs DM and CTF maps, with new skins and models.  I think this is worth checking out if you're into UT. If you're interested, head over to Download.com and download the PC version or the Mac version.

Say bye-bye

Got word that Zoid of id Software is leaving id at the end of this month.  Zoid, for those of you who dont know is the creator of ThreeWave Capture the Flag, perhaps the most popular Q2 mod there is. He's moving on to Retro Studios, http://www.retrostudios.com. It's a sad day for the Q series community.

Q3 v116j Point Release

*Sigh* Here's another one that was released last night. It's not very important but you should grab it anyway.  Here it is: Win32, Mac, Linux.  Make sure you grab the v116j...that's a lower case J at the end.

Ski Week!

It's about fucking time!

Another Q3 update, v116i

This one basically just patches the enhanced security. Make sure you get the patch below first (v116h) and head over to FilePlanet to download this patch. Three flavors to choose from for both patch version, Win32, Linux and yes, Mac too.

Q3 Point Release v116h

Point release version 1.16h was released the night before last, with a bunch of bug fixes and additions including mod support, auto-downloading and more.  Download the right version for you: Win32, Linux, Mac.  Luckily, it's only about 2-3 megs so you dont have to wait very long if your connections is not all that.

New Toys

I just got some new computer toys yesterday and tried them out today.  Most important thing was the Viper 770, using the TNT2 chipset. The first time i ran Q3 with this baby, i swear i had tears of joy running down my cheeks, just from the clarity, the detail and the smoothness of the game. This really kicks my last video card's ass since my last one didnt even work with Q3 for some weird reason.  Even if it did, it wouldnt have been as good as the Viper since i was still on a Voodoo1.

I took some time and did a benchmark for you to see. Here is the system\configurations that i benched Q3 on:

    System

    Athlon 550, 128 ram
9.0MS harddrive seek time; 5400 RPM
    52X cdrom
    Vortex2 Quad sound card

    Q3 Configurations

    800x600
    geometric detail: high
    lighting: Lightmap
    texture detail: Max
    texture filter: Trilinear
    A3D: Off
    Fullscreen

Comments:

Well, so there it is.  Not very bad performance if you ask me. I dont know what's up with the specs for the Demo002 though, maybe the card was starting to heat up from all the previous tests that i did.

Happy Valentines Day

I hope you all have gotten your chick something already, you know how chicks are with these kinds of holidays.  Why do i have a feeling that it was a woman that came up with the idea of Valentines Day. I know there's a history to this holiday but it's most likely all bullshit, just take my word for it: a woman made this holiday just so they can torture us men even more than they already do. But then there's a good side to this holiday, if you're lucky and get something really good for your woman, you might get laid....yeah, that's something that's worth working for.  So i'd think twice before giving your bed-buddy a gas powered weed-whacker, women are really picky.

Stupid links....

Boy oh boy, it's been so fuckng long since i've updated my Stupid Links, so here you go... Check out that first one, it'll come in handy if you've got a boyfriend or a girlfriend, especially with Valentines Day and shit.

Gaming News

Sorry, i went camping all weekend and couldnt get anything on Q3 or anything else. Probably by tomorrow i'll find out if i missed anything this weekend. I hope i didnt miss anything important.

Menu Problem

My menu on the left may or may not show up for now for some reason.  Hang in there and use the site navigator at the bottom of the page to get around my site.

CPUs that'll blow your ass off

Jeez, just about every company out there is in the battle for the fastest and most powerful CPUs.  Just about 2 days ago AMD announced their 1.1 GHz CPU.

AMD today demonstrated a 1.1 GHz(1100 MHz) version of the AMD Athlon™ processor manufactured in its Fab 30 facility in Dresden, Germany. The demonstration featured the newest version of the AMD Athlon processor that integrates high-performance on-die Level 2 (L2) cache. The device is manufactured utilizing AMD's leading-edge HiP6L 0.18 micron process technology featuring copper interconnects. The demonstration required no special cooling techniques and was shown in conjunction with a presentation at the International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC).

Yes, this will kick some major ass...but not as much as IBM's new CPUs which are clocked at 3.3 to 4.5 GHz.

The new circuits employ an innovative design -- called "Interlocked Pipelined CMOS" -- to reach speeds of 3.3 - 4.5 billion cycles per second (3.3 - 4.5 GHz) using conventional silicon transistors, while dramatically reducing power consumption. IBM researchers estimate that chips made with IPCMOS circuits would require only half the power used by a standard high-performance chip.

Ok, now imagine a 4.5 GHz CPU. If you're doing it right you'll be drooling just like I am right now.  Read more about IBM's CPU here.

Problem fixed

Ok, so there goes that button problem i was talking about. Now they should hightlight and show you what page you're viewing. I also added a little java action to it, i think it's cool.  We'll see how that goes for now, i might get tired of it later on though.

There's still some problem with "line 155" though so hang on, i'll fix it later.

Cool Q3 model/skin

If you like chicks and Q3 i think you'll like this model and skin. Check out the Conni model (Miss Conecticut) in her skimpy bathing suit here and download it.  Oh and i know you'll like this, if you're into nude chicks...you might wanna check this version of the Conni skin in the buff.  Beware though, it might be kinda hard to play games with a boner, I'm telling you from experience.
