Optional Rules Compendium

This is a compilation of "house rules" for the BattleTech gaming system. These rules come from different sources and might not be used by your GM. If your gaming group does not use a GM, then rules can be adopted by general consensus of the players. Please note that some of these rules may conflict with each other; this list is meant to complement existing rules.  This list is based on FASA's BattleTech, not the newer version by FanPro (Classic BattleTech).
Use of the phrase "House Rules" in no way implies that the sequenced garbage played in dance clubs in the early 1990's was even music, let alone any good.

Special Note:

Since many of these rules come from different gaming groups, they do not have an established modifier convention (yet). Modifiers may be listed as target modifiers or roll modifiers. To clarify, many rules specify if the + or - is a bonus or penalty. When this section is proofread and editted, a single convention will be used (we hope).
If a game is not judged by a GM, players should clarify any special rules with each other before game play starts.

Please note: Not all submissions can be posted. Other players may have submitted similar or even the same rules, affecting credit. Rules may be subject to editing and revision. Rules may be combined with existing rules (optional or otherwise) to increase playability of either rule. If you do not wish to have your rule revised or edited, make note of it in your submission.
