Mina was the fifth scout to appear in the anime. She is special because Artimis, one of the gardians, found her a taught her to fight as Sailor V. After some interesting turn of events, Artimis decided it was time to leave and join the rest of the scouts. She became part of the crew in "Sailor V makes a scene." In this episode the scouts were in big, big trouble and were about to be crushed by Malachite's domey thingy. They were facing definate destruction until Venus rescued them with her "Venus Crescent Beam Smash."

Sailor V was a manga before Sailor Moon, but it needed more characters so they came up with Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon was fashioned after Sailor V, so Sailor Venus has a little bit of problems with looking a lot like her and yet almost exactly like Sailor V. Sailor V wore nifty glasses and a outfit that somewhat resembles the Sailor outfits. You will notice several references to Sailor Moon's addiction with Sailor V in the anime.

The North American anime has not done Sailor Venus much justice at all. They cut several parts with her in it and took out an entire episode dedicated solely to Sailor V's life. They fail to give much info showing that she was once Sailor V, although if you are smart you can figure it out. Sailor Venus appears several times as a civilian before her actual entrance scene.

Venus is magical becuase of her wonderful personality. She is always there to stick up for her friends. Once again I am forced to mention she is a ditz, but every group has to have one. In the North American anime she likes to talk scary, using such phrases like "girlfriend." That's okay, we still love her. Although she isn't incredibly powerful, she is somewhere in the middle. In the "Day of Destiny" she actually manages to defeat one of the Doom and Gloom sisters before her death.
