Profile: In 1998, after UGoI had already amassed a footing, Piccollo did what many others in the UGoI did to increase their ranks, and that was invite the like-minded to meet the new family of friends. These two friends were sisters by the name of Abby and Hannah Kiiro. Students in Piccollo Daimaou's Kyokushinkai school of martial arts like Walker Akero, they not only fit in famously with the typical martial-arts comedic air that swarmed the UGoI, but Abby was one of the three girls that was heavily involved in fighting during those times. In fact, all three of these girls were Half-Saiyajins like her, and the three got along so famously they seemed to form a team (think King of Fighters).
In 1999, the guild wars began for the UGoI when Walker, along with Rahan, Piccollo, and Lance, began their attack against the Orochi, and Abby began to take a more active approach to the situation at hand. She participated in meeting Vent, and constantly improved her already formidable combat expertise with determination and training by her sister's side under Piccollo. She got along with Walker's bunch pretty famously, as opposed to some in the group, and when the war and the ending of relationships finally split the UGoI in two, she was one of the first to stay on with the UGoI when it merged with the ESF, despite Piccollo Daimaou's disapproval.
When the UGoI Islands were abandoned, she was one of the first to make the transition to Rhy'Din, making an appearance in the very early of the year 2000, like the others of her team. She got along well enough with the Night Parade, and--aside from Walker himself--may have been the largest presense in Rhy'Din itself, both being around far more often, getting far more involved, and the number of friends from the Rhy'Din world. She remained a grand support for many feuds, and when the Orochi signed a peace treaty with the UGoI, she was one of the few brought with to help in signing it in the first place. By 2001, she was easily the most recognizable of Walker's old friends.
After suffering defeat at the hands of Gameron Garcross in the year 2000, Walker made it a point to train a great deal more for when they next met. Likewise, Abby too sought to attain more training, and the two began to train with one another every chance they could, ending with Walker teaching Abby some of the Kenpo he learned from Renki' Sar Kane. With the end of Walker's relationship with Sarah in 2001, this blossomed quickly into one of the UGoI's more powerful relationships on record, albeit a slow and sure one. Their similarities with each other caused many to believe it were an inseparable relationship, and it never had such things as arguments.
This continued on into many feuds. In Spring 2001, When Piccollo Daimaou came to the Sheffield Arms Inn with a fellow Demon and started a fight with Edgar Bellmont, Abby and Walker feuded with the two, along with Renki' and Joesph, showing a firm sign that she willingly stood by her love rather than her old master. Shortly after the feud's end, Walker began experiencing old enemies one after another, and left with Renki' and Joesph to deal with it. This lead to Renki' Sar Kane once more becoming his evil alter-ego, Gameron Garcross, and ended with the Kane family line disappearing entirely, and Walker suspecting this a plan of Garcross all along.
Due to family honor and vengeance driving him, Walker began what would be a six month long journey attempting to hunt down the hidden Kane family, and without any of their leaders present, UGoI began to crumble. This caused Abby to expand her horizons and travel to meet new friends, ending up in a circle of Werewolf types whom she ended up befriending until Walker's return. From 2002 to 2003, Walker and Abby continued their relationship strongly as ever it seemed, but due to her often helping her newfound allies, and Walker being a hero where ever he was needed--including dropping everything to seek his revenge at any possible lead Garcros' location, they'd get to see each other less often.
This helped lead to the downfall of their love. When she was there, he sometimes wasn't. When he was there, she somtimes wasn't. Whether or not this is the sole reason is unclear, but in Spring 2003 Abby ended up leaving Walker Akero, and with next to no explanation as to why, simply stating she "needed some time." This same reason was given to her sister Hannah when Hannah tried to visit her. Walker tried frantically to win Abby's heart back from that point onward whenever they did run into each other, but she was just not having it. When next Walker heard truly about Abby's life that'd been shrouded in mystery, he found her romantically involved with one Laocorn Maxwell, a Metis werewolf of French origin.
While this news crushed Walker Akero's hopes some, he didn't fully give up until 2004, when he learned of their marriage, and Abby's pregnancy. While during this time Abby tried to return to Sheffield and UGoI as if she didn't disappear on them forever with little to no reasons why, it was obvious that when she left, so did the last of the UGoI spirit. Walker remained, but of course he no longer felt any significant amends with her over leaving him for Laocorn, possibly before she even broke up with Walker. One possible explanation for this is quite simply Laocorn is alive and one with the earth, flowing with positive energy and the ability to have children. Walker is a man damned by demons, and can't live that family life well.
The level of discomfort for Abby's presence was ten-fold because of Walker's new friends, such as Freebird, who more than knew what caused him to be the kind of man he is now. This caused Laocorn to believe there was still a connection, and because Laocorn still felt threatened by Walker's presence, and indeed Walker obliged his habitual line-stepping with his own insults, a feud began between the two, with Laocorn issuing a challenge to fight to the death. Walker accepted, only to have Abby come in a day later promising Walker that if he killed Laocorn in this duel, she would kill Walker, and while Walker won the fight, he didn't want to fight Abby and allowed Abby to walk away with a merely-merely-unconscious Laocorn.
Since then, Abby had her child and was married to Laocorn. She lives in the Maxwell estates, and attempts to carry on her own dojo. Although she does keep to several of the other ex-members and their various families for a social life, she more or less keeps out of contact with the UGoI, possibly feeling they'd be ashamed by her decisions--although this is not true. She experienced a feud with the Tobias family line initially concerning Will, and then concerning Daniel Tobias' kidnapping of her son in 2007. Walker deceiving the poor Tobias, getting the son back, and returned it to Abby, and she was last seen on neutral terms. Truly, Abby Kiiro is one of the heroes in life who actually get the happy ending.
Personality: Quick-tempered, jealous and a double dose of Takahashi stubborness. Impulsive, undisiplined, and lazy as sin. She can be very sweet, but her life seldom affords her the opportunity. She seems to have had little experience dealing with personal responsibility or society in the past. She is also very much the "tomboy," dressing in shorts and t-shirts, playing intense sports, learning martial arts, fighting crime -- cooking and the like are things she has not learned. The Abby Kiiro character started with the inherent joke of the Anime Café, the uprising of half-saiyajins -- a "Saiyajin Girl" with monster slaying powers who still worried about boys and curfews. She had an unserious attitude to the whole "duty" concept that got on the nerves of her Sensei, Piccollo, even as he had to concede that her unorthodox approach yielded results. At the same time, this attitude shielded her from pessimism that could have undermined her spirit. Even as Abby realized how serious her situation was, her conscience and sense of responsibility -- learned from her Mom, and from Piccollo -- helped keep her strong, and have continued to do so after emotional trials that would have crushed Shai or even Piccollo.
Abby is a very strong-minded, and sometimes violent, girl. First and foremost, Abby is a bright and cheerful 22 year-old. She enjoys life, physical activity and sports of all kinds. Her sessions with her sensei have instilled a deep respect and dedication to self-improvement, either mentally or physically. Thus, she has a strong drive to better herself in all areas, and hopes that by improving her own skills, she can eventually help others do the same. At the same time, her young age and general inexperience with the world around her sometimes results in Abby not fully thinking things through. She is very skilled and knows it, unfortunately, she doesn't always remember she's not the only one. She is often overconfident, but this attitude is justified by the knowledge that she really is tougher than most of her enemies. She can become angry and jealous, and is apt to hit Laocorn a lot whenever this happens. But even though she does get angry, she does have a feminine side to her. She, having been raised in a family without a mother figure, has a hard time trying to sort out her feelings for others. There is many a time when Abby is on the verge of telling Walker what she really thinks. But it's almost always interrupted with something different every time. The rest of the time, she firmly denies any feelings for them. In her own way, Abby could be seen as having male and female sides to herself (mentally), as Walker does (physically). On the other hand she is fiercely loyal and rather forgiving of others (I'm not sure to what extent her destructive streak is due to Piccollo's influence)
Abby is amazingly lazy, doing her best to get out of any real work. She also rather self-indulgent, preferring to spend her time relaxing in a hot spring, drinking sake over all else. On the other hand, she is some what vain. After being caught in an explosion, she actually wasted time straightening her hair and dusting off her clothing before pursuing the person responsible. Along with a strong motivation for self-help, Abby also has a healthy respect for the world around her. She understands that ki energy is from the natural order of things, and that one should not use it wantonly. This also means that she doesn't like the idea of killing, especially killing for no reason. She herself will not kill, she will try and help anyone who looks like they are badly wounded and will object to the use of lethal attacks on the part of her teammates. Hannah, who treats Abby like a little sister, tries to use her non-lethal powers when around Abby because of this belief. Abby would rather sleep, drink sake and sit in a hot spring than fight anyone! (usually). In some ways, Abby comes off as a typical American action hero: Where Piccollo ponders, Shai worries, and Lance makes cheesy comments, Abby takes action to solve the problem. Her intuition has proven correct often enough that Abby has developed a strong aura of command -- not only is she the unquestioned leader of the Laocorn's group, she is often able to give orders to people who are technically her superiors (like Piccollo or her mom).
Not that Abby is perfect. She is NOT an idiot, but often feels like one next to Piccollo and Hannah, and this self-consciousness about her intellect is one of the few things that can undermine her natural confidence. Abby's stubbornness often gives her blind spots (especially where her boyfriends are concerned) and her emotional toughness sometimes causes her to retreat inward, thinking that no one else is strong enough to help her shoulder her burdens. As a way of amusing herself, Abby occasionally goes out of her way to stir up trouble. This usually involves cruel tricks on Kinji, or some way to make Piccollo look bad in Reba's eyes. Abby has fallen head over heels in love with Laocorn. Abby falls for Laocorn rather quickly, although she won't admit it (at first). She will do her best to protect him from any and all threats (including Walker) and woe to anyone that actually harms him... For Abby, being Laocorn Maxwell's wife is a mixed bag. Her husband, although a strong fighter (and winner of several martial art tournaments himself), is a flake and a con man, and quite often gets in to trouble way over his head. There is also the fact that everyone knows who she is, where she lives, her who husband is, and the reputation that Laocorn Maxwell has built for himself. There are times where she doesn't care for all the attention. Due to her nature and beliefs, Abby could quite easily become a very principled superhero. Her final direction in life will greatly depend on her experiences with the UGoI-ESF and with the resolution (if any) of her relationship with Walker Akero.
Walker's Comments (Spoilers, misc. details)
Strengths: Abby, according to Joesph anyway, has a great deal of brute strength and a lot of raw power, which she uses mostly to beat up others. She is also a very determined fighter, willing to train and learn more toward becoming a better martial artist. Abby is the martial artist who probably puts the most effort in her training, when the need arises. Abby's main strength is determination. She has followed in the footsteps of her hero, Piccollo. She has become a tough fighter and is certainly a match for her brother (but he can still kick her ass on serious fights!). Abby has a nice assortment of attacks as well as one powerful ranged attack. Her potential is quite high, as some of the matches she's had have shown. On the level of "regular" martial artists, Abby has no rival, and is able to take down multiple opponents fairly easily. She has shown the ability to easily break cinder blocks, and crack cement telephone poles when she punches them. When she is determined to win a fight, there is very little anyone can do to dissuade her, and she fights her strongest when she has a strong reason to do so, or has something to prove. It has been alluded to in several story arcs that she has great potential within her to be a very great martial artist, and this shows when she is determined and serious to win a fight.
Weaknesses: To put it plainly, Abby just doesn't have the skill that any of the others do. Abby knows only the basics of the Piccollo Daimaou's style, and has not learned any major special techniques as of yet. Her normal attacks are usually useless against other people such as Kinji, Joesph, and others. However, as mentioned above, there is still a potential for her to learn those techniques. While she might have great hidden potential, she for the most part does not take her martial arts very seriously. Hannah once remarked that she only does them so she won't have to diet. Her fighting skills might be very good compared to the regular person, but among martial artists of Joesph's caliber, she is completely outclassed. Like Joesph, she rarely ever backs down from challenges, but she rarely knows exactly what she's getting into, and often gets in over her head.. Abby is overconfident and will overextend herself to prove she is worthy of her idol, Piccollo. She trains constantly, but by herself. True, she has learned a lot from her constant battles, but she has a lot to learn yet. |
