    KONGO NO SHU

    Courageous and rash,
this robust youth has unbeatable physical strength.
He supersedes all others in the group in determination,
and in his strength of compassion for other people.
He is a master of Kung fu,
and his deadly technique is Gantessai.

    (Laminate information.)

Shu, the rough and tumble Trooper. Shu has the last of the five Samurai Trooper yoroi, Kongo (Diamond or Hard Rock). He is potentially one of the most dangerous Troopers, as his element is the earth itself. (Now here is a person you don't want to tick off if you are standing on a fault line. Things can get pretty shaky, ne?) His symbol is the representation of his helmet. Shu's kanji is Gi (justice), which fits him quite well.
Shu's weapon is an iron bo staff called a tetsubo. It has a naginata blade on one end and can be broken down into a three-jointed nunchuku. A most complicated weapon. To use his special attack, he holds up his tetsubo over his head, calling out Gantessai as he brings it down to the earth. The force of the blow rips the earth apart, destroying everything in the rip's path. (Damage control must love him.)
A city boy, he lives in Yokohama (Kanagawa Prefecture) which is a half-hour train ride from Tokyo. Originally his family came from China, they moved to Japan during the Ching Dynasty.
Shu is a cheerful, friendly, outgoing young man who gets along well with people. Unlike some of the Troopers, he is quite comfortable in crowds.
Personality wise, he is a bit rash and headstrong, in both his judgements and actions. But if he makes a mistake, he will fess up to it. He has a very compassionate nature, and does what he can to help and protect innocent people.
Shu is actually the richest of the Troopers, not that you can tell from how he dresses or acts. He is the comedian of the group, and you can always hear him talking about food (which he loves, and I do mean LOVES) or teasing someone.

    Shu from Kikoutei Densetsu

    Rei Fuan Shu

(Actually, I am not quite sure if Shu is his given name or his family name. There is a lot of mixed information about this. If it is, why do the other Troopers refer to him by his family name instead of his given name?)
Age: 14 (TV series), 16 (Gai Den), 17 (Kikoutei Densetsu and Message)
    Height: 5'4" (at age 14)
    Weight: 137 (at age 14)
    Birthdate: September 1, 1973
    Hair color: Grey-black
    Eye color: Dark blue
    Astrological sign: Virgo
    Blood type: O
Family: Shu has the largest family of all the Troopers. Like Seiji, he comes from a two parent household. Chan Run, his father, is the owner of a prosperous Chinese restaurant in Yokohama's Chinatown. He practices kunfu.
Shu's mother also practices kunfu. She is a master in the art and has been Shu's teacher.
Shu is also the eldest of five. He has two younger brothers and two younger sisters:
Rinfei. She is three years younger than Shu. She is stubborn and a realist.
Yun. He is five years younger than Shu. He is cute, and has an appetite equal to his elder brother.
Mei Ryu. He is eight years younger than Shu. Very mischievous.
Chun Fa. The baby of the family, she is eleven years younger than Shu.
Grandfather. The leader of the clan that Shu's family belongs to. It is unknown wether he is really Shu's grandfather or not, but it seems that Shu is his chosen successor to lead the clan.
One other family member is mentioned. Uncle Chen, the only family member of any of the Troopers to appear in the anime. He lives in New York and the gang crashes at his place during Gai Den. He is either a blood relative or a clan relative.
