HYDE

Hyde, HAIDO....His voice is incredible! Ii koe ne! He can go from falsetto to tenor all in one line. You know sometimes when you sing a song and there is a part that is too high in pitch, you would lighten up your voice to avoid going off key, right? The contrast would cause a very awkward "gap". But Hyde ~ he can just jump from octaves to octaves back and forth with no trouble at all.

Hyde is very poetic and artistic. All of L'Arc~en~Ciels' lyrics are written by him (except this one). They even won the best lyrics award in the Visual Band Awards 1996. In his private time, he enjoys reading scary novels and watching scary movies (especially at late late night). In his house, all interior decorations are done by himself. It has a European, old fashion style. He loves antiques and he likes to collect Blue Glass Products. He said whenever he sees them, he would get waku-waku (excited), just like seeing a new toy when he was a child (kawaii!!). Hyde also loves cooking. When he is not on tour or doing recordings, he would cook by himself and eat by himself (samishii ne!).

In his childhood/teenage years, his favourite thing to do was to go cycling at four o'clock in the morning. He said it is absolutely refreshing and it is like you're the only person on earth because everything is so quiet. But after that, he would go back to his home, and sleep until noon. (hen ne...)
