The challenges this week involve striking a good pose, and the girls get a lesson in editorial versus commercial posing from expert Janice Dickinson. The conflict between Jade and Gina continues, and Gina is so distracted by the house turmoil that she botches both of her photo shoots as well as the panel challenge. Despite the fact that Brooke isn't serving it up in her photos, Gina is sent home because her personality isn't making enough of a connection with the judges.

THE GREEN-EYED MONSTER
Following Kari's elimination, Gina's shocked to still be in the competition, and the pressure she feels from Jade's corner isn't helping. Brooke is also feeling the stress of not having taken any great pictures, even though the judges seem to like what she's doing. Meanwhile, Nnenna checks in with her boyfriend back home and he's not happy she's so far away. His jealous streak surfaces and it's starting to annoy Nnenna.

In the morning, the girls head out to a studio to find a smartly-dressed Janice Dickinson waiting for them. It's time for a posing class. Janice will be teaching "the fine art of commercial versus editorial poses." With her to demonstrate is none other than cycle 5's wild child, Lisa D'Amato. Janice delineates the differences between the two kinds of posing: editorial is "long, luscious, lovely," while commercial is "happy, perky, skippy." Commercial requires energy and smiles--lots and lots of smiles. Editorial needs a model to focus more on the tone the client wants. Finding the light and using it to create good angles for the face is also imperative in both kinds of modeling.

BE CONFIDENT AND FABULOUS
Janice gives some good advice to the girls as they ask questions, but she isn't impressed by Brooke's messy appearance. Janice also zeroes in on Gina's lack of confidence immediately and realizes she needs to learn to laugh at herself to improve as a model. When she makes Gina hop on one foot while laughing, the group is mortified. As the lesson comes to a close, Janice tells everyone, "Just remember who you are. Be confident and fabulous." Then the girls head out to dinner.

Once the girls are seated at the restaurant, Janice reappears to join them. She and Jade click quickly; Jade believes they're "on the same level." When Janice asks Gina if anyone's been giving her trouble in the house, Gina points to Jade. Instead of turning on Jade, Janice instead tells Gina that she should never rat out her fellow competitors (in slightly more colorful language), and sends Gina back to her own seat. In the car on the way home, Gina breaks down in tears over what happened. Nnenna gives her a pep talk and when Jade later confronts her, Gina finally stands up for herself. Jade tries to explain that Gina's got the situation twisted, but Gina refuses to make peace. She's convinced Jade will never stop trying to bring her down and finally declares, "I'm done with you."

The following day, male model Lawrence Zarian meets the girls at a studio for their next challenge, which will require them to utilize the skills they learned regarding commercial modeling. The task: to pose for a Sears advertisement that involves four different outfits reflecting the four seasons. They'll be doing their own makeup and wardrobe, while photographer Russell Baer will be doing the shoot. He won't direct the girls and reminds them that "time is money."

Fast is the word of the day--he wants them in and out of each shot quickly. Sara's "the whole package," according to Russell, while Brooke's skills don't measure up during her attempt. Lawrence doesn't appreciate Nnenna at the beginning because of her quiet nature, but his opinion turns around after he sees her film. Though Jade thinks Gina does poorly, Russell believes that if she could nail her poses "she could be a strong contender." When the competition is complete, Lawrence announces the winner of the challenge: it's Nnenna once again, and she wins all the outfits from the entire day's shoot.

HANGING UP
Unfortunately, her good mood is destroyed when she speaks to her boyfriend John on the phone that night. He's miserable on his own. "I didn't realize how attached he was to me," says Nnenna, unhappy that he's distracting her from the competition. She doesn't want to get too deep into relationship talk, and ends up hanging up on him when he tries to start it up once more.

In the morning, the girls are in for a treat: they pay a visit to Tyra's dressing room behind the scenes of her talk show. Tyra explains that while modeling is a goal, it's important to realize that the career doesn't last forever. What comes after modeling? Tyra gets the lowdown from everyone, hearing the dreams and aspirations of each of the girls. Tyra also reveals that her dream after modeling was to have a talk show, and now she has one. Dreams do come true.

The photo challenge is next. Jay Manuel explains that the girls will be putting their dreams in print for this edgy editorial test, shot by photographer Thomas Klementsson. When Jay says that something special will be added to the shoot, Joanie expects the worst: "sloths, or snakes, or porcupines." However, she's not disappointed when instead Jay presents a group of gorgeous male models--each girl will be paired up with one of them for her photo shoot. Danielle sums it up: "I've been cooped up in the house with these women who are nagging, PMSing and fighting. To see these men walk in, I am [thinking], 'Thank you, Jesus.'" The women chat with the men until the shoot begins.

WHO KNEW THE LAW COULD BE SO SEXY?
Furonda is first and she's cast as a human rights attorney (who apparently also likes to wear leather). Jade gets a blonde wig and a slinky kindergarten teacher outfit, while Sara's prosecutor ensemble is rather tiny compared to your average lawyer's. Joanie enjoys her props of husband, vacuum cleaner and martini in her "mom" shot, and Mollie Sue edges out as a makeup artist in her photo. Gina wears a long, flowing robe for her fashion designer dream role, but she's unable to stay focused and loses her way in the shoot. Leslie excels in her criminal justice investigator role (unexpectedly doubling as dominatrix), and Danielle loves working with her model in her shoot as a singer. The fact that she can't carry a tune in a bucket doesn't detract from her fantasy. Brooke sexes it up in a little nurse's uniform that will suffice to represent her goal of becoming a nurse's anesthetist. However, she's unable to bring confidence to the shoot, and Jay isn't encouraged by her awkward poses. With Nnenna's chemistry degree already achieved, she wants to put her talents to use as a drug researcher, which somehow translates to animal prints and Bunsen burners in her shoot. However, the heat on all the burners is hiked up when she and her model get closer and closer. By the last shot, they share a kiss. Nnenna bolts from the set, laughing as the other girls cheer her on. "Maybe we got out of hand, maybe we didn't, but I just had fun at the photo shoot," Nnenna says later.

That night, Nnenna calls her boyfriend, and though she tries to play it off, she eventually comes clean and confesses that she kissed someone else. This time, she's the one at the wrong end of a hang-up. Tyra Mail soon arrives announcing another elimination is coming the following day, and though most of the girls think Gina's going home, Jade doesn't believe it. All she really cares about is surviving all the way to the end.

WERE YOU PAYING ATTENTION IN CLASS, GIRLS?
The girls meet with the panel the next day, including guest judge Lawrence Zarian. The challenge: to give Tyra three catalogue poses that sell the outfit they're wearing that day. The girls laugh it up as they sell their wardrobe, though Gina struggles through her attempt. Next: they must give three edgy poses wearing, of all things, firefighter's gear. Some of the girls really pull it off, while again, Gina has a miserable time trying to pose.

Evaluations begin with Leslie, who needs to learn to make her poses stronger so a photographer knows the right moment to shoot. However, her photo is stunning; Tyra even says, "Your film blew me away. Everything was elegant." Danielle was strongest in the firefighter's ensemble, while her photo is exceptionally intense. In Nigel's opinion, Mollie's best poses were from her stint as an edgy firefighter, while Twiggy loves her makeup artist photo. When Brooke explains how tough it was for her to come up with poses in front of the judges, Miss J. is not pleased. Tyra explains that she shouldn't be afraid to be ugly in her shots because she didn't have many to choose from this time. Joanie's posing was not so great, but her "mom" photo is killer. Her personality really comes through and Tyra is thrilled that she was able to give many different expressions in her shots. Sara's posing was accompanied by the fake laughter Janice taught earlier, and though she may have felt silly, she nailed each of her attempts. Her early poses in her photo shoot were a little porn-like, but she was able to scale back and stick with simply sexy in the end. When Jade's turn comes, Tyra says that her poses are not quite right. Nevertheless, her teacher shot is strong, but not intimidating. When the judges grill Gina on why she's not able to get her poses down, she explains that there's tension in the house that's distracting her. Lawrence doesn't want to hear it; she's got to step up and let that go to compete. Her photo is awkwardly positioned and Twiggy feels she's shrinking away despite her fantastic looks and body. Furonda is next and Nigel says pointedly, "You have upped your game." Her angles in both of her poses and her photo are powerful and expressive. Nnenna's poses and photos were equally beautiful, and Tyra asks what in the world was going on near the end of her smoochy photo shoot. Nnenna says with a laugh, "I have a boyfriend," and Tyra retorts, "Not anymore you don't."

CHEEKBONES VERSUS POTENTIAL
When it's time for the judges to deliberate, they start with Gina. "You can't deny the face," Tyra says, admiring her photo, but Lawrence notes that her personal issues are holding her back. Next is Leslie, who in person makes little impact, though she takes a smashing photo. Jade's listening and improving, while Brooke makes more of an impression in person than in photos. As for Sara, Twiggy says, "In the beginning I really loved [her]…but she was peculiar today." Danielle's showing improvement, and Mollie's finally showing some fire, while Miss J. is "bored to death" by Nnenna. Tyra chalks her strength up to a "quiet power" that isn't obvious to everyone. Twiggy is surprised by the wit and charm of Joanie's photo, while Furonda has the kind of personality that will take her far.

With that, the decision is made, and the girls return to hear the verdict. First called is Furonda, followed by Joanie, Danielle, Leslie, Jade, Mollie Sue, Sara and Nnenna. Brooke and Gina step forward. The judges see "all the potential in the world" in Brooke, but also wonder if and when her true talent will reveal itself. On the other hand, Gina's face is one of the most striking of the group, but her personality isn't connecting. Who will it be? In the end, Brooke gets another chance, and Gina is sent home after a few last hugs with the girls (even embracing Jade).

As she packs her things, Gina puts it all into perspective. "Modeling is definitely a lot harder than a lot of people might think. I'm sad because I know I could have been so much better." She also reflects on the situation with Jade. "I've learned that not everyone will like me, no matter how friendly I am. There's always going to be obstacles in my life, and it's up to me to figure life out on my own."
