Is Allah not the same God of the Bible?

It is believed that the word "Allah" has the origin from pre-Islamic Arabia paganism. "Allah" is not an Arabic name for "God". The manuscripts of the Bible use the word Jehovah or Yahweh in Hebrew for the name of God. The generic word "God" is a title and not a name, used to denote a supreme deity. The word "Allah" found in Arabic Bibles is most probably, the Christian missionaries want to relate themselves to serve a common God and look for similar ideas to convey the meaning. It was a compromise and not a Biblical truth.

The original manuscripts do not use the word "Allah" in the Bible. In certain country, the word "Allah" is exclusively for Quran and other religions are forbidden to use it.  Sura 3: 62, 9:30-31,  20:8,  & 27:64 in the Quran all proclaims that there is no God but Allah. Thus the word Allah is very doubtful a title for God but more likely, a name for Islamic high god while the name of GOD of the Bible is "Yahweh".

Sura 3:62 Lo! This verily is the true narrative. There is no God save Allah, and lo! Allah is the Mighty, the wise. (Pikthall)

Sura 9:30-31 The Jews call 'Uzair a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah's curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth! They take their priests and their anchorites to be their lords in derogation of Allah, and (they take as their Lord) Christ the son of Mary; yet they were commanded to worship but One Allah: there is no God but He. Praise and glory to Him: (Far is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him). (Yusuf Ali)

Sura 20:8 Allah! There is no God but He! His are the most Beautiful Names. (Pikthall)

Sura 27:64 Is not He (best), who produceth creation, then reproduceth it and who provideth for you from heaven and earth? Is there any God beside Allah? Say: Bring your proof, if you are truthful! (Pikthall)

The Encyclopedia of Religion and Ethics says this:

The origin of this (Allah) goes back to PRE-Muslim times. Allah is NOT a common name meaning "God" (or a "god"), and the Muslim must use another word or form if he wishes to indicate any other than his own peculiar deity.

Allah was a pre-Islamic pagan god, well known to Muhammad's Quraish tribe. Scholars believe that Al-lah was one of the names used for the Sun-god who was married to Al-lat moon goddess. Together they produced 2 goddesses who were called "the daughters" of Allah. The names Al-Lat, Al-Uzza and Manat are found in Quran (Sura 53:19-20). These were considered high gods -- at the top of the plethora of Arabian deities. Muhammad's father's literal Arabic name was Abd-Allah. His uncle's name was Obied-Allah. His family was devoted to worship of Allah for at least two generations before Muhammad.

The Arabian pagans prayed towards Mecca because that is where their idols or gods were sitting. Since Allah was one of the idols (perhaps, the sacred black stone - a meteorite) in the Ka'abah it only made sense to turn toward their god and pray. Praying toward Mecca continues to this day. The crescent moon and star as symbol on the Muslim flag and mosque has a connotation. The crucifix of the Christians also has the connotation on the origin of their belief, i.e., it originates from the crucifixion of Jesus. By the same judgment, the crescent moon as a reflection of Allah may be true.

Allah vs. God.

Islam claims that their god is the God of the Bible. Let's compare:
The Quran
The Bible
Allah is not one of the Three.  God is one existing in three persons; not three gods, but one God (Matthew 28:19)
Allah is un-knowable He is a Jealous GOD (Exodus 34:14). "I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. (Isaiah 42:8)"
Allah has no son. He could have chosen a son as he willed (Sura 39:4) God has the only begotten Son (John 3:16)
Allah is not called Spirit  God is Spirit (John 4:24)
Allah can do whatever He willed (Sura 5:17) God will not go against His immutable nature e.g. God cannot lie. (Number 23:19)
Allah does change (Sura 2:106) God changes not (Malachi 3:6)
Allah loves not corrupters {sinners} (Sura 5:64) God is Love (John 3:16 & 1 John 4:10 &16)
Allah doesn't personally enter human history. God incarnate and came to bring about man's salvation. (John 16:28)
Allah says men by nature upright (Sura 98:5) God says all men fall short of His glory (Roman 3:20 & 23)
Allah provides no saviour or intecessor. Salvation by works. No concept of grace. (Sura 6:70) God provides a Saviour through His manifold grace. (1 John 4:14)
Allah's word is not self-protecting (Sura 16:98) Need to seek refuge when reciting it God's word is quick and powerful (Hebrew 4:12). No need to seek refuge when reading it

The above comparison is clear that the God of the Bible is NOT Allah of the Quran.

The founder of Islam - Muhammad.

At age 40, Muhammad was proclaimed the "prophet" by his uncle Waraqa who was a Christian.  Perhaps, the words prophet and apostle were the borrowed terms from the Bible; Arabian religion has no history of prophets. The Quran gives at least 3 conflicting accounts of how he was called to be a prophet -- (1) In Suras 53:2-18 and 81:19-24, Allah personally appeared. (2) In Suras 16:102 and 26:192-194 he was called by "the Holy Spirit".  and (3) In Sura 15:8 the angels announced his prophetic ministry.

Who were Muhammad's first supposed converts? Genies! Yes, Muhammad supposedly preached to and converted genies in Suras 46:29-35; 72:1-28. How convenient that there was no one around to confirm his prophethood.

During the Nakhla Raid, Muhammad sent some of his thugs to loot a caravan killing one man and enslaving others. This was his first battle.

Muhammad held to power till his own death in 632 A.D. Thus he did not nominate his successors. Soon there were warring sects in Islam such as the Shiites and Sunnis who fight to this day. So not only are Muslims fighting infidels like Christians and Jews, they are fighting against each other!

Muhammad lusted for his adopted son's wife and when his adopted son didn't want to give her up, Muhammad had a "convenient revelation" which said a father can take his adopted son's wife. Read Sura 33:36-38:

...When Zaid had accomplished what he would of her, then we gave her in marriage to you, so that there should not be any fault in the believers, touching the wives of their adopted sons, when they have accomplished what they would of them; and Allah's commandment must be performed. There is no fault in the prophet, touch what Allah had ordained for him.

This passage is in contradiction of the Torah (Exodus 20:14) "Thou shalt not commit adultery." and Matthew 5:17, 27-28 Jesus said: "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil...Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." God's law is above man's law. As His word is eternal so His law never changes. God will never contradict His word just for one prophet.

In Sura 109:1-6 "Say: O disbelievers! I worship not that which ye worship; Nor worship ye that which I worship. And I shall not worship that which ye worship. Nor will ye worship that which I worship. Unto you your religion, and unto me my religion." (Pikthall) Who say we worship the same God?

Another misconception is that Muhammad is a Comforter. In John 14:15-17 & John 15:26-27, Jesus said:
14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever;
14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
15:27 And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

In Revelation 21: 18-19, Apostle John testifies that the Spirit {GOD} and the bride say:
22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

It is very clear that Jesus has declared that the words of prophecy have been "sealed". When God has sealed the book of prophecy, nobody could add anything or substract something from it.

Conclusion

Muslims claim that the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob is the same Allah of Quran. But careful analysis shows that Allah has no roots from the Biblical history. Muslims believe Muhammad is the Comforter that Jesus was fore-telling. But Jesus said the Comforter will  testify of him. As Muhammad did not preach Jesus crucified and neither believe that He is the Son of God, there is no evidence that Islam is a religion preached by Jesus. Allah can never be the same God of the Bible. Those who convert from Christians to Islam are deceived by Satan -- the Father of all lies. Satan also bewitched Muhammad to utter the Satanic Verses (Sura 53:19-20) and it is not surprising for non-born again Christians to denounce their faith. However, God is gracious and merciful to reveal Himself to many Muslims and they too may see the Light of Truth.
