| Knoxville Area Chamber Partnership  In this area of East Tennessee, much of the
economy is manufacturing- or construction-based. Therefore, it is important to have a
uniting force among all of these companies and corporations. The Knoxville Area Chamber
Partnership (KACP) does just that. The KACP also works to support education and pushes for
new, more efficient technology to be used in industry.
When TSA members visted the KACP, we
learned about the movement to build a new tourist attraction in downtown, a planetarium
called Universe Knoxville.
Pro-Tech
One local Knoxville business is the Pro-Tech Manufacturing and  Control
Company. Pro-Tech designs, engineers, and fabricates piping systems and pressure vessels.
They sell their systems fully assembled and tested. They serve a cornucopia of markets,
including institutional, industrial, pharmaceutical, dairy, food, and beverage, just to
name a few.
Pro-Tech also provides plant-control
solutions for the systems they sell, blending engineering services, standard products, and
custom systems to fully meet their clients’ needs. They tailor the application of
their systems to the needs of their customers, as well. The control systems can be either
installed new or retrofitted to existing devices. Their automation ranges from simple
logic relays and programmable controllers to microprocessors, minicomputers, and

Sophisticated construction technology and
architectural design have enabled comfortable life worldwide. They have modernized the
