The Stone of Reikai is taking advantage of a new programming language designed to be compatible on Windows, Linux, and Macintosh systems. The language is called JamagicScript, and the program used to compile is called Jamagic. Jamagic is a programming tool developed by a company which has had many years of experience creating easy game creation utilities. The company, Clickteam, is home to award-winning software such as Klik and Play, Click and Create, and Multimedia Fusion. A different version of Click and Create, The Games Factory, has been found by Neo-Jaguar as an excellent tool for level design. Jamagic is Clickteam's latest utility which instead of using a GUI to program, uses it's own programming language. Jamagic is very similar to the popular Java Script, but is much more powerful and faster. With Jamagic, Neo-Jaguar aims to be the first, or one of the first to create an RPG for Clickteam's already large userbase.
The Stone of Reikai will be featuring a completely original engine. Now days, many RPG engines seem to be modified engines used in the past, or claim to feature engines just like other popular RPGs today. Although much of the engine for this game is inspired by a couple RPGs, our goal is to create an engine that is unique to most current engines. |
