We are pleased you are considering our home for your vacation or weekend getaway. We enjoy our time in Conway immensely. Our children have enjoyed playing on the beach, swimming, hiking, skiing and bicycling around town all their lives. Our oldest child now 20 years old looks forward to visiting the house and seeing the friends she made years ago as do all three of our children. As young parents we found the house a great place to vacation. Being on the water allowed us enjoy the vacation without constantly packing and unpacking the car and hauling the children and all their baggage to and from the beach. When the children were young we visited Story Land and Santa's Village Visiting the playground in Conway behind the elementary school, or at Shouler Park in North Conway was always fun (and inexpensive) and good for a change of pace. Every year brought a new adventure, from fishing to canoeing to exploring the islands or the shoreline. As the children got older we visited places like Cathedral Ledge, or went swimming at the covered bridge on the Saco River or slid down the smooth rocks in the rapids in the Swift River on the Kancamangus Highway. As teenagers the children always brought a friend with them to the house. We would let the children play miniature golf while we attended a concert or summer theatre in North Conway. On rainy days they enjoyed shopping at the mall and shops in North Conway or going to the movies. Our children now range from the mid-teens to young adult and still manage to find new things to explore that no longer include their parents. They have hiked up Mt Washington and a few surrounding peaks, canoed down the Saco and discovered the own secret fishing spots on the lake. Our visits to the lake are less frequent now that the children have other commitments at home but we still manage to get together and visit the lake. As a result the time together at the lake is more special now because we are not there together as often. We hope you enjoy your visit to our home as much as we have. Like everything in
life you get out of a vacation what you put into it. There are many things to
do in the Conway and most of them are free, the Chamber of Commerce and the National
Forest visitor centers offer ideas for old and young alike. We hope you enjoy you
stay and come home with pleasant memories that last a lifetime. Based on the survey responses we received from people who rented the houses over the last 20 years, 99% of the people who stayed at the lake enjoyed their vacation and 75% of them come back for several more visits. However everyone has different expectations. So we encourage you to call us and talk with us about your expectations. We also encourage you to drive up and see the house to be sure it is what you are expecting. The demand for summer rentals is overwhelming, and there is no lack of people interested in spending a week or several weeks on the lake. We want you to enjoy your vacation, so take the time to make sure that you will be happy as our guests. . |
