Attitash
Bear Peak
(12 min drive) |
Attitash/Bear Peak is 12 minutes from our
house and is one of the largest mountain resorts in the Northeast. Attitash offers
the most terrain. There is plenty of beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain to
keep anyone from getting bored. |
Mount Cranmore
(5 min drive) |
Mount Cranmore is in the
middle of North Conway and a great intermediate mountain. There are plenty of trail
and a sunny exposure. Cranmore offers about a 1,200 foot drop so it is a good place
to ski on cold days. |
Wildcat Mountain
(23 min drive) |
Wildcat is 18 minutes from our house and
offers the longest vertical drop in the northeast 2,100 feet. The high speed
detachable quad is a 7 minute ride to the top of the mountain. Wildcat offers great
views of Mount Washington and Tuckerman's Ravine. Wildcat is great for spring skiing
but can be bitterly cold on windy cold days. |
Black Mountain
(18 min drive) |
Black is a great family skiing mountain.
There is less than a 1,000 foot drop but lift tickets are inexpensive and Black has
a southern exposure so it is a great place to ski on a cold windy day. |
Sunday River
(45 min drive) |
Sunday River offers 5 mountains of skiing.
The mountains are a little lower than Attitash but because Sunday River is so
spread out it offers a huge variety of skiing from beginner to advanced. |
Bretton Woods
(45 min drive) |
Bretton Woods is a great beginners mountain.
Although the trails are rated from beginner through expert there are very few steep
expert trails. Bretton Woods offers a huge variety of beginner and intermediate
terrain. This is a great place for families to ski. |
