After a day sail with light NE breezes, I anchored off a pretty valley in Ko Tarutao for the night
Woke at daybreak for a full day sail in freshening wind. Wind died at lunchtime so motored the rest of the distance to Ko Rok, my favourite island along the Thai coastline. Arrived at dusk and picked up a mooring just off a white sandy beach.
Filled tanks with rainwater but noticed a slight oil slick on the water and it got into my water tanks and clogged the expensive filter I bought in Sydney. The oil came from the waterproofing solution I got from Penang. Luckily it rained a lot in Ko Rok with squalls for 4 days, so gave the watercatcher a good flushing down.
Waited out the storms, fiddling with the glow plug and battery circuit and noticed some fuel leaks from one injector cap. Stopped the leakage and replaced a glow plug, then the engine started easily again.
Met owner and crew off a red yacht, and we walked the track up the top of the hill to see a view of the passageway between the two islands. Met friends of a girl who joined us on the track, and enjoyed a beer with her friends who were on a tour together. Later had dinner at the ranger's station.
Went for early morning walk on pristine sand beach next to mooring and saw a strange phallic shrine on a rocky headland.
Stopped overnight at Phi Phi Island for a break and get a few veggies. Stunning cliffs, which were aglow at night from the anchor lights of 20 or so yachts moored around.
